Yes, Kerry is trying to say he was making a joke about the president's failed policy. If that's what he was trying to do, he should have just held a press conference saying it was a joke and he mis-spoke. End of subject.
We really shouldn't be surprised. She also confirmed that Iran and their Islamofascist terrorist thugs are using the same tactics that were successfully used in Vietnam to defeat the United States politically.
He did it back then and he's doing it again.

Agree. And what is so pathetic about the new, revised joke....is that he's saying President Bush is soooooo stupid that he got us stuck in Iraq. Liberal insanity on display. Kerry has a history of bashing our troops.
I hope and pray that President Bush will rip the dims a new one tonight. He probably won't, but I'd sure love for him to.

Yep. If Kerry had displayed an ounce of humility, this could have all been papered over. All it takes is coming out and saying, "I mispoke. I have the highest regard for the troops. I apologise for insulting them. I didn't mean it. I hope the President and the Republicans accept this apology and this unfortunate insult on my part does not cause additional harm to the troops or become an issue in these elections."
That would have been it.
I just called that # and asked for Hunter's office and told the woman how much I appreciated Hunter's support of our beloved military and the president. She was glad to hear from that.
And now I'm going to fix dinner so I can be on FR during the president's 5:00 presser.
Kerry just went after McCain. LOLOLOL......nice thank you for all McCain's sucking up during the presidential campaign.
For the first time in a long time I'm waiting before the TV to hear the President's comments. One thing I'm sure of, Kerry is going to get justly ripped and the Dems have been exposed again about their attitude toward our troops by their 2004 nominee.
In any case, what it all boils down to is, the 'Rats should just STFU if they want to have any hope. If you can't say what you mean or mean what you say, you're pretty useless, IMO. A good description of 'Rats everywhere.
Bush has to do 3 things:
1. Go back to the original Kerry statement - media is trying to hide the facts - and this lame late afternoon excuse about missing words was nowhere in the Senator's "press conference" today
2. Tie Kerry's hatred of our military to the entire Democratic Party -- Patriot Act, wiretapping etc.
3. Demand an apology or advise Senator Kerry that every Post Office in Massachusetts will be shut down beginning tomorrow.
I think he probably will say something along the lines of how Kerry's statement is one of the many reasons we shouldn't trust the dims and that we need to go to the polls and elect good Republicans. I'm quite sure he won't say what I would say but my statement wouldn't be allowed on TV :P
Yep. Kerry's never been particularly helpful to his own cause. He always did better when he wasn't saying anything lol.
