Hi, pepper777. It is a hideous example of what can happen when politics go too far. Terri wasn't even close to pvs or in a coma. The media will never correct their horrible reporting.

Charlie Crist snubbed President Bush for tomorrow. He was hanging with his NY homey Giuliani today instead. They should just change Florida to New Yorkida bec that's where CC got most of his campaign war chest.

speaking of campaign war chests, Crist's is highest in nation for governor's race. I'm quite sick of him at this point. The billboards and on television. Not four years of that empty suit! Say it aint' so!

Did anyone happen to notice that none of the politicians ever mention that TERRI IS DEAD? I believe they want people to think that the Bushes saved Terri and that she's alive and being cared for.

I don't know how to blend this in exactly, but I think it is the evolution of abortion. Pre born babies are not humans, just a "nonviable tissue mass". That makes it easy to kill them. Terri was not human, she was "brain dead". That makes it easy to kill them without the public being to concerned. That is the purpose of lies. The media got caught up supporting abortion. It would be an admittance of quilt if they did not continue their support to kill other innocent people.

Boy, this is depressing to think about.

Evil doesn't sell. Therefore, if you set out to do evil, you distort the language in order to deceive -- to make it sound as if you're doing good. You can give good names to horrible things ("choice," for instance). Or, you can talk up some little bit of good while keeping silent about the larger evils. It IS depressing. A very old trick, observed and told by many writers and thinkers before us. Old? Cain tried to deceive God about slaying Abel!

The antidote -- my favorite, at least -- is to cut through the euphemisms and describe things in plain, honest words. Then there is no place for evil to hide.

In my observation often the greatest lies are those wrapped around a core of truth, sometimes mostly true, almost true, but with a barely noticeable taint of lie. Our minds seek to go to the core, see the greater truth, and gloss over the tiny lie which obviates the truth.

Concomitant to that is for the liar to weave a lie bundled in threads of euphemisms as you mention so the recipient is not quite sure what was heard. Yes, simple words and simple truths are the antidote.

The libs resort to their final fantasy, a story pushed in several papers this morning. Perhaps this might convince some of us fence-sitters to stand up and vote tomorrow. They really seem to think the public was behind their push to exercise Terri's Right to die be killed.

The Terri Factor applied...

Congratulations. If the prognosticators are correct, you are about to win a victory that will shift the balance of power in one or both houses of Congress. Of course, if the prognosticators are incorrect, you will soon be committing hara-kiri. In which case my only advice would be: one hard thrust and then pull up.

But this letter proceeds from the assumption that the prognosticators are right. On that basis, I want to make a plea.

Snip...

So, if you win power here, please don't assume it validates anything you've done. If you win, it's because of Mark Foley and Theresa Schiavo and Randy "Duke" Cunningham and Donald Rumsfeld and George W. Bush and Jack Abramoff and Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter and Dick Cheney and Hurricane Katrina and 2,800 dead soldiers and because, as my mom used to say, enough is enough and too much stinks.

A letter to the Democrats: Don't gloat, get to work

Scott's Fight

With all the election related topics, we almost slipped by an update of good news with Scott Thomas. Scott builds his strength as he emerges from the struggle with a murderous wife and the once unsupportive courts.

Great news! The judge has signed an order that Pamela can file for divorce on Scott's behalf! Scott has indicated for a very long time that this is what he desires to do. Please pray that this process will be able to proceed smoothly.

Liza has continued to keep Scott from seeing his son unless she is present. When asked if he would like to see Logan if it means that he has to see Liza, Scott's reply is "I'll wait". Please pray that he will soon be able to spend time alone with Logan.

Scott is trying to walk! He is working on exercising his legs and arms while in his wheelchair with the goal of walking. He recently told his mom, "I'm going to go sit on the couch," and then gave her a big smile. Please pray that soon he will be able to get up from his chair and walk wherever he chooses!

As the far left makes a full court press for tomorrow's election through their allies in the media they once again make it clear that a vote for them is a vote to kill innocents like Terri as they repeat the theme over and over.

If the dems get into power in the Congress will we ever see appointments of judges sympathetic to cases like that of Terri?

And who can forget the Terri Schiavo debacle? It really was touching when the Republicans - out of heartfelt sympathy, I'm sure - called an emergency session of Congress to prevent the removal of Schiavo's feeding tube. Never mind that this was a family and state issue, not a federal one.

Which party deserves your vote tomorrow?... Face off: Two columnists take on the midterm elections

When he returned, he changed his registration and is running as a Democrat for state representative in District 24.

"In part it was Iraq and in part the Terri Schiavo case," Walker says. "The Republican Party here in Marion County has gone too far to the right."

It is pessimistic, perhaps, but a harbinger of what we may face if the killers of Terri succeed in tomorrow's voting.

This is the most depressing election conservatives have seen in years. The frustration is understandable. Since 1994, the GOP establishment continues to reject the pro-life base. Pro-life legislation has been challenged in the courts and judges have been denied appointments. GOP leaders don't discuss family or religious values anymore. We hold our noses and vote for them in gratitude.

Snip...

Democrats have neither issues nor traditional values. Since the media never reports accurately on issues favoring conservatives, that job falls to the GOP and the President. They must follow through with decisive action, whether it's the war in Iraq, protecting Israel, stopping abortion and embryonic stem cell research, the Terri Schiavo case and fighting assisted suicide/euthanasia, or fighting homosexual marriage. The GOP has failed to do this and that's why they'll pay a price on Tuesday.

Conservatives: Ignore the polls, just vote
