Saddam could hang within 30 days
Sunday Herald Sun ^ | 5 November 2006

OUSTED Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein and two of his senior allies were today sentenced to death by hanging after an Iraqi court found them guilty of crimes against humanity.

If an automatic review of the death sentence fails, the former strongman will hang within 30 days.

Judge Rauf Rasheed Abdel Rahman ordered bailiffs at the Iraqi High Tribunal to force Saddam to stand before the court as, visibly trembling, the former strongman attempted to shout down the verdict.

“Make him stand,” barked Judge Rahman, as Saddam begged the guards: “Don't bend my arms. Don't bend my arms.”

A court official held Saddam's hands behind his back as Judge Rahman, shouting to be heard over the defendant's protests, declared: “The highest penalty should be implemented.”

Saddam was sentenced to death for his role in ordering the killing of 148 Shiites in the village of Dujail, north of Baghdad.

As he was led away, his arms still pinioned, Saddam declared: “Long live Iraq. Long live the Iraqi people. God is greater than the occupier.”

If John Kerry had been elected President in 2004, Ramsey Clark might be the Chief Justice of the United States instead of John Roberts.

keep in mind that people involved in the trial
have been murdered.

I would think a LOT of people would want the sentence
carried out as soon as possible,
just for their own safety.

I was watching Fox News around 6 this morning as the live feed was on. I couldn't help laughing as they repeatedly showed one scene of the crowd cheering and this guy comes past, totally numb like, then when he sees the camera, raises his arms in celebration. They kept showing this same man.

Ah, skip it, ya had to be there. I'm still having my morning coffee and trying to wake up again.

It's just when I saw him, over and over, I thought that he ranks up there with Looter Guy, Tourist Guy and the rescue guy in Lebanon.

I've often thought that part of the insurgency plan is to wear down Americans, get us out of there, then restore Hussein to power.

Kerry and Clark would make good noose mates for Saddam Hussein.

The MSM, DemoncRats, and other liberals are Deeply saddened. How will they spin this, covering it may help Republicans. I'm sure they don't know weather to sh*t or go blind.

Bush's fault.

I read someplace yesterday that it might be years before he dons the noose. There are something like a dozen more trials for him in their goofy system.

Whether or not they proceed with them remains to be seen, I suppose.

Nothing like the promise of a good hanging to bring people out to pull the lever in the voting booth.

I hope President Bush comes out with a statement about the new government of Iraq bringing Saddam to justice. I also hope Tony Snow gives a press conference tomorrow to make the liberal news media cover the wonderful news and how happy the citizens of Iraq are about justice being served!
