Two days before the election, Justin H, a 16 year old pundit made famous by a call into The Rush Limbaugh Show, decided he needed to produce an ad hitting on a subject not many are talking about. Even disgruntled Conservatives can agree that President Bush has done an amazing job with his judicial appointments. It's because of that, that he produced an ad targeting Liberal Obstructionism.
His ad, which is currently running on numerous Conservative blogs including his own, Stop the ACLU, Cao's Blog, and others, specifically requests that voters vote Republican on Tuesday, so that Constitutionalist judges can continue being appointed.
Thoughts??
Very good! I hope you don't mind if I link to it.
Of course not. Link and encourage others to do the same. We need to drive people to the polls Tuesday.
After we had to threaten revolt over Harriet Miers.
In general, he's done well.
I was among those leading the charge against Harriet Miers, including doing some investigative work among her writings, which revealed a lot of serious problems--feminist, pro-affirmative action, and apparently pro-choice.
The President allowed himself to be persuaded by that one, apparently by Miers' friend Laura Bush and by Andrew Card. And he probably didn't fully realize himself what Harriet Miers stood for, since he liked her socially and she had apparently done a good job working for him.
Anyway, thank God he withdrew the nomination. He might not have, but he did. And he came up with a stellar replacement.
I don't expect he will make the same mistake again, because if he did, he could be sure that his own base would hold the Republicans' feet to the fire just like we did the last time.
To repeat, I don't think he thought that one through. I think he mistook what kind of Justice she would have made. Because she is a professional team player, obliging, pleasant to have dinner with, and so forth, and he just wasn't familiar enough with her earlier writings--which were cautious, but not cautious enough, thank God.
