I have said for a while that a dem House with over 230 seats is a powerful mandate to get us out of Iraq and quickly, and that winning the House back, even in a completely fair atmosphere, wouldn't happen for quite a while.

The 'lets teach them a lesson now and win big in 2008' petulant minority is living in fantasyland. We can turn around a Dem House with a 5 or 10 seat advantage. It appears they have over a 30 seat advantage.

We won't be able to turn that around barring some remarkable outside influence(s).

you are the eternal believer (or willful propagandist), as far as i can tell. Your party has had congress since 1994, and the WH since 2000. of course they are expensive. talk to me about how to pay for them, and about GOP non-defense discretionary spending increases. I sure don't see the guns 'n' butter economy being told to tighten its (debt-financed) belt, so where is the problem?

Not sure what 'forgetting' has to do with budget issues in what is pretty much perpetual war, at least for the next decade+ of my life.

I have to agree. There are too many people who have totally lost sight of the fact that all democracies/republics are founded on COMPROMISE. In other words, you never get EVERYTHING you want. Usually you have to settle for the BEST you can get. For me, getting conservative judges is worth a whole lot.

Your analysis is dead on. If Me and My Family could move, I would move to: Alabama or South Carolina, at least there - My values and My Families values would be represented there.
