Good observation. Government is always a generational thing. The opinions and morals each generation had in their youth permeate the society when they enter their 50s and 60s and take over major leadership positions.

Luckily, "Reagan-era youth" are getting older and closer to taking the reins.

That'll be great for awhile -- until "Clinton-era youth" get their turn ... Shudder!

I heard Newt talking about it and figured it was a good time to go back and read it -- it was eerie, because it could have been given today and all that would need to be changed are some names and dates.

Especially the public sector, because a 1974 Lefty is highly likely to have become a lawyer then gone into politics.

you've defined the Clintons exactly

one became POTUS

the other wants to

Chelsea wasn't even ambitious enough to attempt law school, she'll just be crowned Princess someday

And the tail end of the Clinton era youth are the Boomlet, who were propagandized by their parents, the late 60s and 70s college students. Our window of opportunity will be short - very short.

I thought George Allen could do it, but he's clearly out. Newt is too divisive and has too much baggage. I don't think Pence has the charisma. Rush would get torn apart by the left, but I wonder if Hannity could do it.

After reading other topics and posts this evening, and almost weeping, this gives me hope. From the ashes true conservative values will rise. I pray for a statesman for our party.

It's literally our last chance. Failing that, darkness will arrive.

Darkness has arrived my friend. Over the past several decades being conservative has been redefined to the point that even JKF would now be considered a hard line Consitutionalist. Most of the people who call themselves conservatives today don't have a clue of what the word means.

The bottom line is it will take the sheeple at least 8 years to 10 years to get sick of the liberal democrat bullshit. When we finally experience the next GOP(conservative?) groundswell (10 to 20 years) the days of GW and the likes of Hassert and the other RINOs will be fondly referred to as "the days when conservatives ruled". No one will remember what a what a real conservative was.

What happened this election was not an aberration by some crafty democrat, or some foolish republicans who simply did not understand the public mood. What happened is the end result of 40 to 50 years of faux conservatives incrementally ceding conservative values. We are now truly on the downhill side and going the way of Rome.

Chelsea is on her way to becoming another Soros minus whatever real talent that clown has. There are various routes to power.

Hannity better get moving soon. There are others buried in the states, but unlikely any of them could get vis prior to '08.

But the significance of the election was not registered by those who voted, but by those who stayed home.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Truth! The Republican RINO initiative is DOA. The Gang of 14 lost 12 ( or 13?) of their number.McCain is personna non grata.Spector eyes the retirement paddock.

Conservatives stayed home or voted 3rd party. The Republican party needs more men and women cut from the cloth of Regan, and Tom DeLay as well.

This lesson was NOT lost on the RNC. Hastert, that mavin of weak bi-partisanship, cowers from the back of the room refusing to offer himself as minority leader. He and the RINOS traduced Tom DeLay. Now the Republican party pays the price for it......minority status.

And NOW the RNC must return to its conservative strength, and make it a foundation for its future. If not, then the South will become a conservative armed camp retirement area.
