I would suppose that the Firefighters who pulled this joke have been properly punished. However, I fail to see how the city could be held responsible. Why ddint he sue the Firefighters who did this to him. Oh!! we all know the answer dont we? The city has more money, and wasnt the OJ Jury from Las Angeles? So we naturally know the sympathies of a LA jury.

I was a volunteer firefighter and the racial animosity between the black and white male firefighters was enough to wonder why anyone not white bothers.

So you were a firefighter in LA? Or is it just that you believe that your experience in one firehouse mweans that every firehouse in the whole country is the exact same way?

According to the 'RATS, all old people eat dog food all the time so they can pay for the medications, buy wood to heat their little, one bedroom apartment and have the fare for ambulance rides when they have to go to the hospital. I don't see how eating dog food is a "racial" prank. Of course, I don't see how listening to loud music is "torture" either. DemocRATS are weird. They really make me believe in their Darwin monkey thing.

No. I was one in a racial hostile firehouse. I'm just giving my experience. I NEVER said my experience was every other experience BUT I've heard the same over and over again from black firefighters and FDNY is one of the worst.

Several LA firefighters have called Larry's show about this. They know this guy. He himself is one of the biggest pranksters around. Also, when he was playing volleyball, he was a good spiker (he's 6'5"). He'd tell his teammates to "feed the big dog!"

Even if he wasn't a joker himself and it was racial, I don't think he should get millions. Maybe he just can't take a joke.

Why do you think that was? I can tell you I needed to go to emergency once and the doctor who helped me was black, and I am sorry to say my first thought (not out loud) was, "is this guy a quota doctor". If he was he still did a great job, but it was my first thought. Is it the same sort of thing?

"The association of a black man and dog food resonates with the deep historical roots of slavery and the corresponding dehumanization . . ."

But this was a black FIREFIGHTER. I would sooner associate him with charcoal and the white firefighters with marshmallows. But that's just me. I remember trying Gaines Meal as a snack when I was a kid. Not too bad. Settlement was too high, but I would not tolerate purposeful humiliation of anyone based upon the color of their skin.

It not just a thought about quotas. It's outright hostility about who is inferior and who isn't, who's father's grandfather came from Ireland and was the first firechief,etc.etc.etc. Long Island used to be a very segregated place. It was my first experience of real racial animosity. I got along with a lot of guys but then again I was a female and kept to myself.

""The association of a black man and dog food resonates with the deep historical roots of slavery and the corresponding dehumanization," said sociologist David Wellman, co-author of "Whitewashing Race: Colorblind Policies in a Color Conscious America."

And every firefighter in that station knew this of course...

What B.S. Was there even such a thing as canned dog food in the 1700-1800's?

"I've never eaten dog food, but it always smells good to me."

Me either, but have been tempted to do so. It smells and looks like Corned Beef Hash, which I love!

Honestly, alpo canned beef stew/w veggies for dogs looks a lot better than the Puritan canned beef stew for humans stuff I buy. (And it tastes just as good too, I tried it)

This is stupid.

I'll eat dog food for 10K a can, maybe less.

It's like the old joke about everyone being a prostitute, we just have to establish a price.
