"Sen. John McCain, considered the front-runner for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, ..."

The drive-by media has been using that line for years now .. and yet in every poll taken on FR in the last few years, John doesn't get more than a few percentage points on any of our polls.

It appears the media is going to try to force this idiot on us .. and I'm not voting for him !

The Republicans better come up with somebody for 2008 besides McCain, Guillani, or Newt Gingrich. Unless we just want to surrender to the democrats like in 1996 with Bob Dole.

All 3 of these have been pushed as good candidates but all come with so much baggage that a large part of the Republican base will not vote.

McCain - Keating Five, think we won't hear it. Plus hes insane. Lots of folks can't stand him period, no matter what the media and his fans here at FR say.

Guillani - cheats on wife, pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, anti-gun and people HERE on FR are actually pushing this guy. By 2008, it will have been 7 years since 9/11 and hes been out of the public eye too long. The tales of the heroic mayor will be ancient history. Plus he chocked and dropped out of running against Hillary twice.

Gingrich - cheats on not one, but two wives. That'll get the base going TO STAY HOME. Plus the book deal and other general crap, plus he choked and then quit also. Been out of politics too long. He has some good ideas but does anyone really think he is electable nationwide?

We've got to do everything in our power to keep the SOB from getting the nomination. He's spent the last six years positioning himself to the left of the administration by being a stumbling block. He won't attract conservatives to vote for him and we'll be out of power for years to come.

He doesn't seem to be doing so well in our poll so far... maybe he should just save some $ and retire. :)

McCain? didn't they learn from Bob Dole? maybe in the vp slot with a young, strong, top. but as top? no. especially if they are trying to pull in the female vote... which votes more by looks then anyone.

and Guilani is not the top in that scenario either. But Romney at the top, with Guilani or McCain as 2nd seat, and then you have something.

Tell everyone you know that will at least consider it. Don't give a dime to McCAIN or the RNC who will be funding this guys primary campaign. They want to push popular media figures like McCain and Guliani.

Randy Graf in Arizona had 250 grand thrown at him in the primary and then the RNC pulled a million in the general and he ended up with 43 percent.

It's time to get smart that the Natl Committee establishments won't help conservatives but they dumped money to help that a hole Chafee

A poll was already done here per my suggestion by Jimrob regarding Romney versus Rudy versus McCain versus sit it out, and McCain got about 4%. McCain may win the gold, but it won't be due to this "precinct."

I would like to see Governor Haley Barbour of Mississippi (even though he lobbied for Mexico), Senator JD Hayworth,
or Rep. Duncan Hunter. For VP, possibly Michael Steele, or someone similar. The new president should appoint Newt as Secretary of Defense.

He'll waste a lot to time effort on his part, an a lot of words, time and effort on "our" part - but no way will he represent conservatives in the 2008 election.

He's damaged goods - the "gang of 14" and "campaign finance reform" were enough to doom him.....I hope!!

There aren't many attractive candidates for us though.

Frist showed himself incompetent.
Allen screwed himself over.
Guliani's basically a RAT.
Romney is a pandering whore.
