The Drive-By Media has been especially vicious, shrill, loud and unrelenting during the last couple of years. They started early and increased the drumbeat to a crescendo at the the last.

I think billboards all over the country with one-second visual bytes of good propaganda are another way to reach the public and counter a lot of this "twenty-second sound byte propaganda" of the MSM on the boob tube.

Frankly, the MSM talking heads don't give a rip what conservatives think about their illogical and erroneous ravings. We could drive ourselves insane and exhausted sending them all sorts of analyses and Joe Six Pack would still be sucking up their instant and easy rhetoric along with his beer. Joe Six Pack sees billboards and other forms of advertisement, and we have to look for other avenues to get results. (Translation: The majority of the American people are addicted to the boob tube and the boobs on it.)

One of our first opportunities will be whether or not Nancy Pelosi does all the things she said she would do in the first 100 hours? That's two and a half weeks so I plan on noticing it if she doesn't. Also, whether or not Conyers or others attempt impeachment, which Ms. Pelosi said would not happen.

The Democrats did make promises. Now let's see if they keep them or not. And, I include all the new blue dog Democrats who got elected by acting conservative.

A columnist in a local paper was dismayed that a county south of us voted Repub for several offices. He made the accusation that they must have voted straight party line, and that they would have voted for Hitler or Mark Foley if they were on the ballot. I started working on a reply to this "columnist"...

Gee, this is the perfect opportunity for you! Get a petition signed DEMANDING an apology that is prominently placed in the newspaper, or let them know you and group of angry "Hitler" Republicans will be hounding any company that advertises in that pathetic paper to withdraw their advertising dollars.

Rep Harman reportedly under investigation
The Washington Times ^ | 20 October 2006 | NA

Posted on 10/21/2006 2:14:49 AM PDT by YaYa123

The U.S. Justice Department is trying to determine whether Rep. Jane Harman, D-Calif., got improper help from an Israeli lobbying group. Harman of California is the senior Democrat on the House intelligence committee. Time Magazine reports she may have received a boost from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee when Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi wanted to remove her from the committee. Harman left a voice mail for the magazine calling any suggestions of improper conduct "irresponsible, laughable and scurrilous." She has retained Ted Olson, the lawyer who formerly served as President George W. Bush's solicitor general.

Larry Hanauer works for Rep. Jane Harman
Stop the New York Times.org ^ | October 21, 2006 | editors

Posted on 10/22/2006 3:55:41 AM PDT by Sergeant Tim

Yet that fact is not what the New York Times wants to tell you. They prefer you to believe that the big story is about, "retaliation." So who is Larry Hanauer?

Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence
U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVESPRESS RELEASE
H-405 U.S. Capitol, Washington, DC 20515
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: DAVID BUCKLEY
APRIL 4, 2005 202-225-7690
HARMAN ANNOUNCES MINORITY STAFF HIRES AT INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE

- Larry Hanauer comes from Booz Allen Hamilton, where he consulted on a range of intelligence issues for CIA, DIA, NGA and DHS. Previously, Hanauer spent eight years in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, where he served as an advisor on U.S. security policy in the Middle East, eastern Europe, and Africa. In 2002, he spent a year on Capitol Hill as a Legislative Fellow.

Meaning, Larry Hanauer works for Congresswoman Jane Harman.

And doing the math from the press release, it appears that Mr. Hanauer worked at the Pentagon "on U.S. Security policy in the the Middle East" from 1993 to 2001. That is interesting.

Before looking at what the New York Times' wants you to take from their report, let us first look at what they buried after the slant:

In his response sent yesterday, Mr. Hoekstra said he felt obliged to investigate the question. “This is an issue of national security,” he wrote, inviting Ms. Harman to help decide how to conduct the inquiry... On Tuesday, acting at the suggestion of another panel member, Representative Ray LaHood, Republican of Illinois, Mr. Hoekstra banned Mr. Hanauer, the staff member, from the committee’s high-security offices and from access to classified documents.

Mr. LaHood said Mr. Hanauer had requested a copy of the National Intelligence Estimate and received it two days before the article in The Times appeared on the Web [all emphasis added here is ours].

We can start now by helping the media down it's already serious slide into oblivion by finally cancelling Subscriptions to your Daily Left wing rags. Read your Newspaper on line, and you hurt their circulation, they get no ad money, and you do not have newsprint all over everything. Most People have this very strong umbilical cord between them and their Newspapers. They have a need to have Coffee and breakfast with their Newspaper, and when they continue to reward the Leftist Newspapers by subscribing they are giving them a greater leg up to hurt the GOP. In my small Community, the Newspaper went from Conservative to radical left in about 1 Year three or four years ago, and their circulation is not down even though they inexplicably Promoted Tim Mahomely over Joe Negron repeating the lie that he is a local Resident instead of the truth that he is a Palm Beach County Gated community resident. They discounted the fact that Mahomely has no experience in elected office, and is a Businessman who has a past of screwing over his clients taking down a Business to the tune of 1.2 Million that they invested in while he took a salary and benefits of $400,000. Joe Negron in the meantime was a 6 year State Representative who was on the Budget Committee and did a great job. This is a very conservative area, and Pro Life and Pro Gun,and of course the leftist Paper hid all the left wing nut pro abortion stands that Mahomely was for. The Paper is part of the Tampa Tribune, which used to be a decent paper but is fishwrpa material now. We have to start with the Hitler like propagandists in the Newspapers, they are not air,and they are pretty stupid to think that they will get away with it forever in a Conservative Community.

As an interesting side note... A MAJOR cause for our loss, and one that I hate because it was an obvious setup... was foleygate. No one seems to remember that we were polling ahead of dims in every segment except that of marxism... before that story broke.

That scandal brought back abramoff, who brought back the "culture of corruption"... tied into Delay due to Sekula-Gibbs write in candidacy... Republican Leadership brought into the center of a non-sexual Sex Scandal... dbm harping it non-stop... add that to immigration and spending... and you have the result that is the 2006 mid term election!

Along with Santorum's and Ford's loss he was bummed out over Kinky's poor showing. I think his dedication to Ford was just for show. Not sure on Santorum but Kinky's loss was a real disappointment for him, I think. He did get Lieberman.

Me too, RG.

I saw Rush over the Internet shaking as if a Parkinson's victim and I understand he was trying to illustrate how Fox was shaking on the campaign commercial versus how he appears on Boston Legal.

Still it was a sight byte to behold although I'll go on record and state that I understood completely the point Rush was trying to make.

And yet I also understand the point Hastert was trying to make when he stood out there with all those Dems defending William Jefferson-D-Louisiana. Hastert "supposedly" was defending separation of powers in that it's an ominous thing to have the executive branch, via the justice department, go rifling through elected officials' desks, perhaps planting stuff, who knows? This is the sort of thing that creates dictators and underneath the awful sight bite of the Republican Speaker of the House standing in lockstop to defend, as it was perceived let's get real here, William Jefferson-D-Louisiana, who actually commandeered an NG helicoptor to help him retrieve his stolen cash-I kind of understand where he was going.

Hastert COULD have written an editorial in the Wall Street Journal or used other means to state his concerns. Instead he gives us a sight bite that made my blood run cold.

Damn, it MATTERS how you are perceived.

Rush said the other day that conservatives are not "packagers". Yeah, I'll agree with that.

They're ham-handed and so convinced they are right that they falsely believe the truth is the end all.

Not so. Perception is everything.

They had power and they gave no thought to what the world sees and hears, especially their own base.

They need to hire some "packagers". Recruit some from the Democratic party; they're experts at it.
