I was hoping for Steel, too. He needs a little more national recognition. Steel in 2008?

This year has been one series of bad decisions after another, one reason we lost last week.

Well, I do NOT like this one.

However, it is not a "disaster" like has been proclaimed on here.

Still, not too thrilled with it.

Figures the Constitution Party trots out your crap where you cannot even get on the ballot in most states and when you do you cost us Senate or House races with your 1-2%.

You work from within the Party to change. Won't you 3rd party types every get it through your head that you have to run to be a delegation to the local and then state GOP conventions to make a change by volunteering to be on the platform or rules committee.

I am tired of 3rd parties costing us elections when the votes come down to a small majority.

Hmmm...sounds good, except for the last one. I think we NEED foreign alliances in a world fast moving towards globalization. We just need to be very selective in our allies.

Yeah but when compared to the negatives of the GOP in their current state, I would probably still go with a CP candidate if they could win. I agree with more points on the CP platform than I do with the current GOP direction.

Bad choice, but typical. The Republicans again learn the wrong lesson. (That's what they're best at.)

They seem to think that becasue a bunch of Democrats posing as conservatives beat tehm and because a bunch of conservative ballot initiaties passed, the thing to do is wander even further tothe left. That's just a recipe for disaster.

Steele would have been a better choice. For one thing, he's more conservative and for another thing, he's an articulate black guy. The PR value would hav ebeen inestimable. So of course, the stupid Republicans would never do it.

Memo to the GOP: This is why you lose.

So I'd take the ACU ratings with a bit of a grain of salt...

Maybe even the whole salt lick.

Then we would never win again.

I was excited about Steele. But Martinez? What?

Nice guy and all, but does he have what it takes to be a political party chief?

I guess he can be GOP chair as an active senator?

I think Dole was.

I agree with the platform, but like someone else said, some states don't allow them on the ballot. Unless you had someone very high profile deciding to switch and head the party we'd never get the volumn of people to make it viable and wake up the GOP or let them sink.

I wrote, "I won't give you any money because you might give it to RINO's, including Lincoln Chaffee or Olympia Snowe."

Their problem is that you understand very well what they're all about.

I can't imagine why a sitting senator was picked for this job. I suppose it has something to do with trying to amnesty through. Maybe to try to appeal to Hispanics? Well, we saw how Powell and Condi managed to win us that huge black vote since 2000 so I just don't get it the Rovian strategery.

Just spoke to the RNC 202-863-8500.

The man was under the understanding that the appointment will be voted on in January by all the voting members. Call your local offices to voice your displeasure.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to call Martinez's office and ask him nicely to NOT take it as it is a grueling position that he cannont possibly successfully manage while being a Senator.

Conservatives stayed home, now they want what they want.

Most conservatives voted, despite the best efforts of many in the GOP to give them no reason to vote for them.
