Fighting a war to protect the security of the civilized world is not about 'feelings'.........it's about FACTS.

The facts, while they are ignored by the MSM, are tht there were WMD in Iraq, there were plans to make nuclear weapons, and they had the means to kill millions if they had the opportunity.

Saddam Hussein bought into the anti-war marchers all over the world and thought our President was another billclinton.

If those marchers had taken to the streets on behalf of SH innocent victims, he would have left the country and a multitude of lives would have been saved. He made a different choice and we had NO choice at all but to act.

I am waiting to see Sunday's NY Times Headline

"Bush's failure to Secure Iraq's WMD Causes Military and Civilian Deaths."

Also your Google link in #162 lists a link to the same article posted on another web site. I did not see that and had to find that article another way. Did not realize there was 2 pages to your google search. The article link is on page 1 second item. The same 10th Mountain Division article concerning operations in southern Baghdad is on 2 web sites. See ya later.

Troops make impact in Iraq 11/16/06

The commander of the 10th Mountain Division's 2nd Brigade Combat Team says they don't need more US troops in Iraq; they need more Iraqi troops. Colonel Michael Kershaw held a video teleconference from Camp Striker Thursday to give an update on the unit's mission. As News 10 Now's Amy Ohler explains, the brigade is making significant accomplishments in Iraq.

Update from 2nd BCT in Iraq Updated: 11/16/2006

By: Amy Ohler The 2nd Brigade Combat Team deployed to Iraq in August. They've only been there a few months, but they're already making progress in the war-torn country.

Brigade Commander Colonel Michael Kershaw said since they've been there, they've discovered more than 240 roadside bombs.

"We have seen our casualties go way down as a result of really everybody's efforts, but in particular, the Gladiators Battalion effort on that," said Col. Michael Kershaw, 2nd Brigade Combat Team Commander.

While in Iraq, the brigade is working with the Iraqi security forces and training them to govern themselves. Colonel Kershaw said the Iraqis are making progress, and some units are now leading operations.

When Kershaw was asked if he thought more US troops were needed in Iraq, he said more Iraqi troops are needed hands down--not US troops.

"Today we were searching cache areas, and I tell you it's both a US and Iraqi mission, and the Iraqi soldiers, and I mean I think we have the greatest soldiers in the world, but they can smell out these caches better than we can," said Col Kershaw.

He also spoke about our recent election and mentioned the Iraqis are interested and tuned in to our political government.

Kershaw said their biggest accomplishment so far has been taking over the Yusufiyah power plant. Terrorists had been in control of the plant, which dates back to the Saddam Hussein regime.

Allegra have you heard anything about this:

I've heard some things about it, but I don't feel like I can say anything right now.

Sorry. I'm not trying to be vague; it's one of those things that has been discussed among some people, but I don't want to say anything yet, in case what I've heard is either erroneous or classified.

That lends a bit more credibility to the report. Time will tell - if true this can not be contained indefinitely.
Thanks and stay safe, Allegra!

Thanks for posting this. I am very sorry to hear of the negative effects of this weapons cache destruction. It makes you wonder if this was more or less the plan when stored in such a mannor.

Hope the negative effects can be minimized for all concerned.

There will be more of this, via Iran. We need to get out of the Iraqi kill zone then annihilate Iran. Otherwise our troops in Iraq will suffer mass casualties.

Once Iran is crushed, the rest will be easier.

It has started - the battle of the mushroom clouds.
