We Are Not Amused
The Stiletto ^ | December 11, 2006 | The Stiletto

Posted on 12/12/2006 4:51:50 AM PST by theothercheek

In an effort to reduce his "carbon footprint," Prince Charles has announced through a spokesperson that, "Wherever possible, we will be making less use of helicopters and chartered planes and rely more on car journeys, scheduled flights and trains." But planet saving may not be the prince’s only motive. The Associated Press notes that "pressure to be more cost-effective has seen the scrapping of the royal yacht Britannia and cuts in the use of the royal train."

The Stiletto bets that whenever he flies on a commercial jet, The Royal We will be sitting in First Class with all the other seats in his row left empty as a courtesy (the airline will likely comp the seats for the PR value of having a prince on board). His statement did not say "We will be crammed amongst commoners in coach whilst contemplating our carbon savings."

"Carbon footprint". The latest buzzword from eco idiots who need someone's carbon footprint on their butts.

Twit! A day's honest physical labor might jog his brain back into place. Maybe!

A flying carpet might be more appropriate at the rate things are going in Europe.

But...but...they're making those flying carpets out of forbidden synthetics now.

Let's see how stiff his upper lip remains the first time a baby with an earache screams incessently throughout an 8-hour flight - the ice-pick-in-the-brain sound being no less unpleasant coming 40 rows behind him.

Centuries of inbreeding, and this is the culmination of its enlightenment on society? In that case, maybe we should declare a war on carbon.

Chuckie's "cartoon" footprint is growing at an alarming rate, however...

He should change his name to Prince Moonbat.

But we already knew he was crazy....he prefered that
odd Camilla woman over a beauty like Diana, the mother
of his children.....

You are right about all the seats on Charles row being left empty. Back in the 60's while on a trip to London we bought tickets to a play from the concierge in our hotel. When we sat down we notice no one else was seated in the 2 rows in front or 2 rows behind us. We were all alone in the best 5 rows in the house. Just before the play started Her Royal Highness Princess Margaret and her entourage came sweeping into the theater. To their credit they did not demand that we get out of their seats, the princess sat right beside me and chatted me up.
I was a star struck 22 year old and after we left the theater we took the bus back to our hotel and sat next to a char woman who had her bucket and mop with her. What an evening, (I hadn't thought of that in years).

What a great story. I'm glad this post brought it back to mind.
