A Republican congressman has told constituents that unless immigration is tightened, "many more Muslims" will be elected and follow the lead of a recently elected lawmaker who plans to use the Quran at his ceremonial swearing-in.
Rep. Virgil Goode, R-Va., made the comments in a letter sent earlier this month to hundreds of constituents who had written to him about Rep.-elect Keith Ellison, a Minnesota Democrat and the first Muslim elected to Congress. Goode's letter triggered angry responses from a New Jersey congressman and an Islamic civil rights group.
In the letter, Goode wrote, "The Muslim representative from Minnesota was elected by the voters of that district and if American citizens don't wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode position on immigration there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office and demanding the use of the Koran."
Goode said the U.S. needs to stop illegal immigration "totally" and reduce legal immigration.
Goode added: "I fear that in the next century we will have many more Muslims in the United States if we do not adopt the strict immigration policies that I believe are necessary to preserve the values and beliefs traditional to the United States of America and to prevent our resources from being swamped."
Meanwhile, Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr., D-N.J., wrote to Goode on Wednesday saying that he was "greatly disappointed and in fact startled" by Goode's letter.
"I take your remarks as personally offensive to the large community of Muslim-Americans I represent in the Eighth District of New Jersey," Pascrell wrote.

This takes the cake....now, we have third persons once removed taking personal offense...I think I have that right....it's kinda confusing, isn't it?
Should apologies now be forthcoming to third parties not related to the offensive affront who, in turn, will relay it to the supposedly offended first parties...or something like that!
Little by little, piece by piece, and sympathizing a$$holes like Pascrell are all gradual movements for the ultimate goal. I believe that radical Islam is for real; particularly when a Democrat, from New Jersey of all places no less, does NOT believe it is a problem.
You should have seen Sandy Rios debate Doug Schoen earlier today. I stood and applauded her. Schoen talked about tolerance, but Rios said Islamists in this country were laying the groundwork for the destruction of our way of life. I sent her an email thanking her. Even earlier today, Bill Pascell (D) NJ said Goode was wrong. That people who said things like that didn't know anything about Islam. I think Pascell is the one who is ignorant and that he needs a crash course. He isn't alone, of course. At least half the country needs to learn about Islam. Soon.
The West is not proud enough of its culture and traditions to protect them. Cultural or moral relativism will be the ruin of a Western Civilization invaded by Islamic savages.

I think his comments were over the top, one of those "stupid Republican tricks". Having said that, I can't help but feel he may be right in some way. Doesn't matter, he is pretty much wrong here, in my opinion, but then thats life..
A lot of people who voted for him didn't know he was an Islamobot. He hid the fact, slick-willy-fashion, during his campaign.

What do you expect but this kind of response from a state representative that approves same sex marriage, grants rights to transexuals, etc. Pascrell - rhymes with Rascal - is probably one of the first people the Muzzies will come after when they take over.
By the way is he still Mayor of that stinking sewer Patterson as well as State Legislator?????????
I believe one reason Republicans has lost some close seats the last election was muslim immigrants.
I suspect the 40,000 Bosnians now living around St Louis cost Talent the election and I heard Allen lost because of the muslim vote.
One of the big cuases of the fall of the Roman Empire was the loss of national and cultural identity. When the provinces no longer thought of themselves as "Roman" the empire was doomed as a state. I hate watching history repeat itself and be able to do so little about it.
If it were up to me I would give him the Medal of Freedom for speaking the truth. Keep them out! No more; not ever.
Instead of us having to prove that we're not Islamophobic, we should demand that the Muslims prove to US that they are not coming here to turn this country into a Muslim dictatorship. I've heard nothing but words from them, and very few of that, but no PROOF.
