On his visit to Iraq, Senator Kerry apparently got something like the silent treatment from the troops who are "stuck" there. WDAY's Scott Hennen quotes a message from a friend serving in Iraq:
This is a true story....Check out this photo from our mess hall at the US Embassy yesterday morning. Sen. Kerry found himself all alone while he was over here. He cancelled his press conference because no one came, he worked out alone in the gym w/o any soldiers even going up to say hi or ask for an autograph (I was one of those who was in the gym at the same time), and he found himself eating breakfast with only a couple of folks who are obviously not troops.
What is amazing is Bill O'Reilly came to visit with us and the troops at the CSH the same day and the line for autographs extended through the palace and people waited for two hours to shake his hand. You decide who is more respected and loved by us servicemen and women!
Scott comments: Again I say..."GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!" I think it's fair to say that the photo qualifies for consideration as part X of James Taranto's series on the troops responding to Charles Rangel's reiteration of John Kerry's calumny (see today's incredible part IX of Taranto's series here).
UPDATE: Scott writes that he'll be filling in for Sean Hannity on his radio show Wednesday and Thursday, and promises to talk about the photo. Scott is one of the best local talk radio hosts in the country. Check him out on the Hannity show this week.

I doubt if we see this story on the MSM. What I've seen so far on the tube is Kerry sounding like he's visiting the Troops and his policies are all being well received.
Thanks for sharing reality. And God Bless Our Troops. Defending our right to make choices, and I'm glad to see our Troops making the choice to associate with those people that count in life.
BTW, doesn't even look like the locals serving Christmas goodies want anything to do with Kerry. Even they know Kerry's trading their freedom for his political advancement.
EXCELLENT. God Bless these warriors, wounded and otherwise.
In days gone by, Kerry would have had an "accident" if he visited the troops.
Bump! and hooooaaaaahhh to the troops in Irak!
roflol
But, but he's one of them. He served in Viet Nam, ya know.
The troops are showing their smarts.
This post just proves they know their enemy when they see it.
And, they know the many forms it can take (John Kerry)!!!!!
we can only hope he had the Ranch dressing on his salad....
"I loved that photo."
We had the honor of having the supply sergent of that unit at our house for Thanksgiving. SHe shared that every person in that photo has a college degree, and most have a Masters.
Remins me of some of the speeches given on the Senate floor ,and shown on C-span. They sow only the senator giving his speech, investigation shows no one else is there they are alone speaking before the lecturn and no one else is in the room except a nored cameraman.
Thought the DC chapter would enjoy this info and photos.
I'm sure that Carry would explain this picture (if asked about it) as an inadvertent oversight and a 'BOTCHED' seating assignment.
I disagree, shunning doesn't send a strong enough message. More appropriate would be Tar & Feathers.
I AGREE...THESE ARE OUR TRUE HEROES....I'M IN AWE OF THEM & SO GRATEFUL FOR THEIR SACRIFICE & SERVICE. I PRAY EVERY DAY THAT GOD WILL BE WITH THEM.
In looking at this picture, a question comes to mind:
I see the Union Jack and a flag I can't identify. That flag almost looks like it has the Marine Corps emblem on it but why would a US Marine Corps flag be hanging next to a British flag? I did a quick search and the British Royal Marines Flag is a two perpendicular red lines with the Union Jack in the upper left corner so it certainly isn't that.
I know the original source says "photo in the US embassy mess hall" but is it common to hang the British Flag in a US embassy?
