They're drunk. VP Cheney and MIKE Ford, not Steve, weren't at odds over it. VP Cheney escorted her up to a certain point, then MIKE (the eldest...Steve is the youngest son), took her right up to the casket. That was a family moment, it was so personal as she bowed her head over the casket. I think Cheney and Mike just had an awkward moment on the exchange, if you ask me.
Unfortunate, but you're correct. The families don't sign up for the abuse that is heaped on them. BTW, I don't remember them treating Rosalyn Carter as bad.
You know, thinking about it again, I bet children love Lincoln's statue, especially, because of the *lap* - because he's seated and it's like Daddy's lap to crawl up on.
His service at the Capital was early evening. His formal funeral service was in the morning so he could get back for the sunset burial -- which still gives me chills to remember the sun setting just at the appropriate moment.
His will be a Wellstone event.
My sis quit before having surgery....doctor gave her Welbutrin(?). Supposedly, I'm quitting this month. Texas just raised the tax. Too bad I enjoy smoking. Dang it....

Yes, I have a tendency to stay up too late on the weekend nights and then sleep in too long the next day..by the time I get up I feel like I have lost half a day...
That's my plan. Better to dance with the one who brought you than trying to look for greener pastures -- as so many are threatening to do.
I think I'd drop my cable and go to Direct TV if they did that here.

~LOL~ that why I have a hard time making the Sunday thread, by the time we get up, make pancakes and bacon for breakfast and get dresse, all the back East Freepers are mostly on to other things.
