Is Savage going soft? Tonight he called for a pull back of US troops from Iraq

He said US should pull back to the sidelines and let Iran get "sucked in" to fighting the Sunnis in Iraq. I've been telling freepers that my sense is that the war is getting increasingly unpopular even with Republicans (that's what I'm hearing among my GOP friends in business and the community) - and now, tonight, Savage seems to be giving voice to that mood.
I'm not buying it. But I'm troubled when Savage is moving away from the President's mission.

Are you sure he's not an intellect? How many times have you heard him brag about his PhD in flora or some-such? He's a brain-dead lunatic.
To: freedomdefender
Savage wants a WWII-esque fight where you bomb/shoot the hell out of the enemy and his support structure, including civilians if need be, until they surrender completely. Not the PC "winning hearts and minds" warfare crap we have now.
No disagreement here.

Say what you want about Savage he's usually fun to listen to. And he's always been spot on with "borders, language and culture".

No Peace Without Victory!
America just don't have any guts to take on the hard work of peacekeeping. It was predicted....5 years after 9/11 people would be lulled into their disneylands by political ineptitude and correctness.
We're going to be hit again. Unfotunately it won't be San Francisco, liberal capital of the world.
Nothing against the few good people who live there.

It was a pleasure to hear Rush today. He even had Tony Snow to answer some questions. Today we got the best analysis of the left's opposition to the war on terror that has even come out of a radio. He gave a complete analysis of the subject and did not stop until the issue was covered. Michael Savage does not stay on task. He rambles through the discussion; many times forgetting the names or the specifics of an event and leaves the listener without the intellectual support they need to combat the left. He comes off as an elitist which turns off those that could benefit from the truth.

but the mission, and the enemy in WWII were TOTALLY different than they are now
the US is trying to stabilize an Iraq falling into civil war. In WWII we were fighting a national military backed by the full weight of an industrialized nation's workforce

He thinks that if we are not going to go all-out, that we shouldn't be there at all. Can't argue with that though, we should be going "all out" or nothing!

In WWII we were fighting a national military backed by the full weight of an industrialized nation's workforce.Sounds like Iran and Syria, who are both fighting/killing us by proxy, and have been for decades.
Bush's biggest blunders were not letting the military "win" as they see fit, and not going after the "enemy within" here at home (= the drive-by treasonous media).

America has never won a limited war; frankly, it's not in our DNA. We won the two World Wars and the North won the Civil War because these were all out wars, with no measures to protect civilians and cultural sites like mosques, even when the civilians and the mosques harbor terrorists. We did not win in Korea, and we lost in Vietnam because the Pentagon and the White House restrained our forces. The same rules of engagement are in place in Iraq, and we have little to show for three years of intermittent warfare.
There is no substitute for victory.
To: freedomdefender
The complications in Iraq are certainly separating the boys from the men and the patriots from the pansies.

We're going to be hit again. You betcha, with the Rats in charge & they take away the wire tapping & surveilance of overseas calls & other measures our government uses, of course we're going to be hit again.
Sadly, the rats, liberals, anti-war cooks, don't understand that many, many attacks have been averted due to the spying tactics our government has used so well!
