NBC's Anti-Rudy Push Poll
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 01/27/2007 9:01:32 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Definition: Push Poll: "A push poll is a political campaign technique in which an individual or organization attempts to influence or alter the view of respondents under the guise of conducting a poll. Push polls are generally viewed as a form of negative campaigning. The term is also sometimes used incorrectly to refer to legitimate polls which test political messages, some of which may be negative. Push polling has been condemned by the American Association of Political Consultants."
Melissa Russo, political reporter for NBC's NYC affiliate WNBC, recently followed Rudy Giuliani up to New Hampshire. In her report on this morning's "Today," Russo stressed that at a GOP campaign stop, Giuliani failed to inform the Granite State Republicans that "he's far from a social conservative."

View video here.

So Russo decided to take it upon herself to inform them. Here's Russo interviewing a nice Republican lady:

Russo: "Did you know he was pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro gay rights?"

Nice Republican lady: "No-o-o-o."

Russo: "Would that affect your support for him?"

Nice Republican lady: "Ye-s-s."

Have a look again at that definition of push polling. Sound to you like Russo was engaging in it?

The Constitution, which includes 2A, is not a social issue. It is the the premier National Security issue.

The media and the Democrats view Rudy as a potential danger against the Democrat ambitions for the presidency. This would undermine their goal of a Democrat President, House, and Senate. They know that Rudy will beat Hillary, Obama or any other Democrat candidate, because Rudy not only appeals to a large segment of the GOP, but to a large number of independents also - and it's the independents who would give Rudy the Presidency, providing Rudy wins the GOP primary.

With regards to rest of the GOP contenders, like Hunter, Brownback etc, if the polls are any indication, they aren't going anywhere. Some may argue that in 2 years a lot of GOPers will know more about them, but they aren't Ronald Reagan. As a well known actor and later the Governor of California, Reagan was already a well known figure. The same is the case with Rudy, as he's known by America because of his outstanding conduct during 9/11. No one needs to tell people who Rudy is, everyone knows him – and the liberal media, their pundits and the rest of the Rats know this as well.

Having an unknown winning the primaries will get the CONS patting themselves in the back, and thats about it.

What sane person wants a hereditary monarchy in America? What sane person wants a far left Commie? If Rudy is the best candidate who can keep Queen Hillary from claiming her throne, so be it.

Stop the insanity now!

Are you referring to the BunnySlipper's mean-spirited photo of conservative, Republican, former member of the Reagan Administration and Ambassador, Dr. Alan Keyes?

Or maybe the various Duncan Hines and Dunkin Donuts pics posted by PSYCHO-FREEP and others to belittle conservative, Republican, former Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, Representative Duncan Hunter?

You're supposed to be pinging people when you reference them in your posts.

Alan Keyes was NEVER a VIABLE candidate. Never. You really need to look up that word "viable". It is important when choosing a candidate.

Also, didn't Keyes also suggest he supported slave reparations during his stunningly disasterous campaign against Obama? Do conservatives support reparations?

A moronic response by you I might add.

If everyone in the party does not support your dicatorial brand of morality you call them a liberal. Like it or not, the GOP still has fiscal conservatives who have no use for your fire and brimstone approach to politics.

Let's have a Republican primary tomorrow. The candidates? Rudy Giuliani and Dr. Alan Keyes. Bet you'd be surprised at the result.

Well, isn't convenient for you.

I am a gun totin' anti-abortion, pro-tax cuttin' conservative. The reason I am for Rudy is that I lived in NYC during his tenure...I know he is a tough SOB and that he gets things done.

Conservative issues are important, but since we are at war, I want the very best to prosecute this war. Rudy cleaned up NYC with deliberate force. He cut taxes, threw Yasser Arafat out of Lincoln Center and threw Saudi Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal's $10,000,000 check back in his face, successfully took on the mob, and cleaned up one of the most f@cked cities in the world.

Bottom line, the Democrats don't even know we are at war. If they win, this country is in deep doodoo. IMO Rudy can beat the Dims and he can win this war.

So you and your anti-Rudy buddies can keep on spewing, but you are not honoring FR and you are not honoring fellow conservatives who put the war and beating the Democrats ahead of their conservative principles.

In your inflated self-righteousness, you concluded your way is the only conservative way. You may be dead wrong.

So lighten up and listen a little.

Oklahome would go overwhelmingly to Rudy. All of us remember the nasty Dr. Keyes here in OK in 2000! He doesn't have the personality to be President with his attitude he showed here or credibility because he cannot be counted on when the chips are down to support the President on foreign affairs.

He did so well in IL too! (sarcasm)

Keyes is not well liked in Republican circles with his abrasive attitude. And now he wants to jump to the Constitution Party so he can get more money from them and you tout him for a Republican primary. Your guy is toast!

I read it. You say you're a conservative, but your actions are speaking much louder when you support a Leftist.

Calling Rudy a RINO is an outrage. He endured years of the most vicious attacks I've seen a NYC Mayor go through at the hands of Lieberal Demonrats. He was called a Nazi, a racist, a fascist, and ironically a far right Conservative by the Liberals who hated him. If Rudy was a RINO he would have surrendered to them the way Bloomberg has done on many occassions. Instead, Rudy stood up to the Left and never turned his back on the Republican Party. He would have given up and joined the Democrats if he were a RINO. It's disgusting to see so many Republicans stabbing him in the back after his years of loyalty to the party. For 8 years we had a Republican as Mayor in this city which was a miracle considering how Liberal this town is. He is not a Republican in name only. His enemies on the Right are stooping as low as the Left who vilified him for years by calling him things he was not. I don't know if he should be POS, but I do know that he deserves respect from Republicans for the great job he's done for the party for decades.

Tell me one thing I have said that is leftist.

I think you just accuse anyone who disagrees with you of being a leftist.

I accuse you of not understanding the war we are in. You are right behind the "cut and run dems" because you would, by default, let them win and desert our men and women in the field.

I have one issue and only one...the frikken war...A WORLD WAR. Does that say anything to you?

You put some lame conservative up against the dems or stay home like a little sissy to teach the country lesson...and you have "cut and run"!!!

You may not agree with, but STFU with your personal attacks.

They aren't insults. This is completely logical and even subjunctive (ie...if you let a Democrat win by putting your pride ahead of winning, you share responsibility for their actions).
