My fear is that as history typically telescopes at sonic speeds, we will substitute our remaining vestiges of judgment and common sense for a ticket of the brainless and spineless whose only attribute is making moronic talk show hosts look brilliant.

I really wish I could disagree. I really really wish I could but after listening to all these middle age women gush about how "Sexy" they found Bill Clinton during the 1996 Campaign my faith in the American people is serious eroded.

Gosh...CNN is reporting that there was a plot to kill Sistani..and the Iraqi forces thwarted that..WITH the Americans.

That is good news, that they worked together to prevent that...and killed 250 insurgents killed.

I have heard of too many reports that a "lot" of people will vote for Hillary, even though they don't like her...just to get Bubba back in the White House..

He is the one that set the table for this war in Iraq, IMHO>..

Sorry to disagree, he is Conservative on some issues, but not on others like fiscal matter. I see People putting too much of their heart and soul on someone that has never even run statewide. Americans have shown they like Chief Executives of States as proof that they can do something besides introduce/pass Bills. Look at the last several Presidents with the exception of LBJ (VP), Nixon (VP), Ford (VP by default), and GHWB (VP), and vast experience as Head of CIA, and a multitude of other important jobs. Hunter may sound good to people today, but let us not make up our minds prematurely, or we have someone that freepers like, but loses 40 States to whomever the Rats put up there. Allen sounded good, where is he now after he was almost anointed? People get all excited about fill in the blank, and they end up upset down the road. I think that Hunter may very well be in line for a VP position if nothing awful shows up, but the Key is he is one of 435 Congressmen and that is his experience. Let's put aside the emotionally relevant fact that his Son is in Iraq, so is Tim Johnson and Jim Webb's sons. I am taking a wait and see attitude, this 2008 race is too big to get bogged down with a Candidate that thousands of others have more credentials than he does.

Pat Buchanan is an isolationist anti-semite protectionist. There. I said it. He's not really a Republican, either. He's a spoiler and he hates the Bush family. He's never been elected to anything, either. What a crock, trying to tie Duncan Hunter to PB.

The Dem leadership is lock and step with putting Hillary as the candidate for '08-- but

the GOP is determined to shove McCain down our throats and use Hillary as a scare tactic to keep us on the reservation...

they think that it is McCain's TURN (read RIGHT) to be the GOP candidate in '08....

supposedly Newt is going to announce weather or not he will run in September....With all the information I have-- I believe they are just "allowing Newt" until December to try his best to make some headway with the 2/3 of Dems that are frustrated with the Dems being too liberal....

The way I see it...they know that 2/3 of Dems think that their leadership is too Liberal...they know that 2/3 of Repubs think their leadership is too liberal...

So know it is a race to the middle-- scare tactics for the American people on both sides, etc.....

You can see what Newt is trying to do-- he is trying to counter the "blue dog" Dem strategy that the Dems used in the last election.....but mark my words-- the GOP has already crowned McCain...and they have prepared the ammo against Rudy, Mitt, and Newt.....

THe Dems have already crowned Hillary, and they have Clinon people encamped in the NON-Hillary Dem camp already...

JMHO, but that is what I see. The Rats want to win, and they did not have a Candidate to go up against Hitlery so they were stuck with her unpopularity and polarizing effect on the Voters and stayed with her. Now they have two Candidates they can run with and dump her Presidential Aspirations, but they still want her bitchiness and Whip cracking in the Leadership of the Senate.

I agree, and the more we have our Website publicized the more great freepers we will have to delight us with their humor and wit, plus their uncanny ability to see what others do not. It never ceases to amaze me how a few freeper voices turn into tens of thousands of activist voices in a heartbeat, like the Mat incident that the Soldier in Iraq wanted to buy on line. The Power is here, and there are Millions of minds that are untapped by us as yet. we will persevere, and we will bring aboard new Freepers with uncanny abilities to detect the previously undetectable, and to Voice an opinion that strikes a note (or clue) in freeper's minds that takes off galloping in other directions that uncover vast mounts of info. we have huge battles ahead,I hope we are ready....
