This press release is several days old but Newt is ahead in the latest Free Repulic poll so I think it's timely.

I hope for a Newt-Condi ticket to combat the Hildabeast-Osama ticket.

Newt seems like a good candidate, but I fear he would seem like a has been to most people...

Forget Newt. Support Hunter.

You're indeed better off with someone nobody's heard of rather than someone that most of the population either hates or thinks of as a joke.

Newt would lose the election in a landslide. That's unfortunate, because he by far has the best positions on the issues, of all the presidential candidates.

Newt has too much baggage.

He led the impeachment of x42, but who ended up turning in a resignation? It wasn't Bill Clinton.

Newt basically walked away from his House seat. He didn't even exhibit enough character to resign.

That, plus his personal marital problems, makes him a godsend -- for Hillary Clinton.

If Newt is the best the GOP can offer, the GOP is in deep trouble for the next quarter century, at least.

Newt in 08 = Dole in 96 [except that Dole was honorable, a man of character, a war hero, and a Senator with a distinguished record of service -- and he lost to Bill Clinton].

Unless you have been asleep for the past 25 years you should know beyond a shadow of a doubt that no matter who the GOP nominates they will be trashed by the laimstream media relentlessly. I personally would prefer someone who can debate from a point of knowledge and experience with a good, sound understanding of history.

Jean, at least Newt is a real Republican.
I so worry about his friendship with Mrs. Clinton though.

H'mmmmm, Let me be the first to say: "Draft Beer Not Newt".

Actually he is the person I'd most like to see elected president.

I like Newt as a therotician and strategist. As a leader he showed me little.

Newt can't win for the same reason that Hillary won't win -- too much baggage. Voters want a new choice, not a has-been.
