In GOP presidential race, McCain slips; Giuliani gains luster
The Christian Science Monitor ^ | February 7, 2007 | Linda Feldmann

For the first time since October 1999, McCain's favorability rating among American voters has dropped below 50 percent. A Gallup poll taken last month showed him at 48 percent, down 6 points from November, and down from a high of 67 percent in February 2000. Giuliani, in contrast, has held above 60 percent favorability in Gallup polls, most recently at 62 percent. Now that Giuliani has signaled a serious intention to run, stating on Monday "I'm in this to win" as he filed papers with the Federal Election Commission, the comparisons grow in importance.

For Giuliani, winning over enough of the conservative Republican base to secure the nomination has long been seen as a potentially insurmountable task. But now, analysts say, it's possible that Republican-leaning independents could make the difference in the early GOP primaries.

Despite Giuliani's slow start, he now regularly beats McCain in head-to-head matchups. Gallup in early January had Giuliani beating McCain 50 to 42 among Republican primary voters.

The KEY WORD in Guliani's campaign is SEMANTICALLY = BS!... Otherwise known as "bait & Swith" (or the reverse, whatever! :) you get my point. It means they can move the little "ball" around and confuse you... So KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE BALL... Or should I say on the "BULL?" lol.

THOSE EXPENSIVE CONSULTANTS ARE DOING THEIR WORK RIGHT NOW. Let's see if they succeed... After all we Red Staters(?) are supposed to be stupid remember? :)

... Now, what about a climate — not to mention a Republican presidential candidate — that not only tolerates, but allows unelected judges to legalize the practice of delivering a child until only its head remains within its mothers womb so the child can be killed by sucking out its brains?

... What about a climate where same-sex couples are given the same legal status as married couples, whether the resulting arrangements are candidly called “same-sex marriages,” or are semantically papered-over with terms such as “civil unions” or “domestic partnerships”?

... Apply the Giuliani Continuum to fundamental issues such as marriage and the right to life, and where does it lead?

... Not where conservatives want America to be.

... Rudy Giuliani’s observation about the “continuum” running from graffiti to murder was quoted in a piece in the winter edition of City Journal by Steven Malanga. The title of Malanga’s piece neatly encapsulates his argument: “Yes, Rudy is a Conservative — and an electable one at that.”

... I believe Malanga is wrong on both counts. Rudy is neither conservative, nor electable — at least, not as a Republican presidential candidate.

Love him or hate him, Rudy has the real results to show for cleaning up NYC.

That all preceded 9/11 and the leadership mantle he assumed then.

Makes a good combo to shield off the Hildebeast..............

I think, short of a major dark horse arriving on the scene, Guiliani is the only hope for the GOP to hang on to the presidency.

The media has not yet set out to destroy him. They have tons of stuff that won't play well in flyover.

Guiliani isn't my first choice, but I would rather a liberal republican in office than any democrat.

Agreed. But, all of that is mitigated if Hillary is the nominee because she doesn't play well in flyover.

Why is Sean Hannity always singing Rudy's praises?

I have to say that I respectfully disagree on all counts of your post.

I have watched Giuliani very closely lately. The more I see and the more I learn about him, the more I like.

Sean Hannity has a list of Rudy's many good points and they deserve respect as well as attention. Now, in regards to this biased hit piece you just posted, that's pretty much how it comes across. It's nothing new and is based on ancient rhetoric. I take it for what it's worth, and that is pretty much nothing.
