I skipped a number of races in Texas altogether last election and voted for Kinky Friedman over the RINO (former Dem) governor.

In 34 years of casting votes, I have made two errors: voting for Carter in '76, and voting for Rick Perry last November.

I took a mulligan on McGovern in '72. Hey, I was 18, and a dumbass! However, that was more than offset by casting a vote against Pete Stark in his initial run for Congress.

I have yet to see "24" either. My free time is spent watching the first season of Mission Impossible.

"I am probably about the only freeper who hasnt watched 24"

You're probably too busy watching college football September through January. See you in Lincoln on 9/15

I used to watch Rush's TV show in the early 90s - thought it was hillarious. But it didn't last long. Hope this new show has some legs

I watched some clips of this show on youtube and on Fox News and I hate to say it..but it really isn't that funny. The audience sounds like a laugh track and forced and the humor was weak sauce.

I do however LOVE their new overnight show Red Eye which is on in the middle of the night on the Fox News Channel.

There are at least two of us now. I haven't had tv for ten years now. I had never heard of 24 until someone mentioned that nuclear blast a week or two ago.

>>...hybrids are a cheap, simple, effective way to reduce gasoline consumption.<<

No they're not - not cheap, simple or effective - and that is why they are making fun of them. ;)

This article was on the second page of the first section of the SF Chronicle's first and is quite long. It is not as critical as I thought it be. If this had been just another satire on the news I do not think it would of gotten this much space.

>>Compared to other forms of alternative technology (hydrogen, ethanol, etc.), it's far and away the best.<<

Well, I agree. But that is like saying Hitler is not as bad as Stalin. One is really bad an the other is really REALLY bad.

I wonder what the sticker price on a hybrid would be if there were no government incentives or subsidies.

I think the idea of regaining energy when you reduce speed is the only thing hybrids bring to the table. And that is still in it's infancy. I think of hybrids as a performance enhancer rather than an efficiency thing. Using BOTH motors off the line gives incredible acceleration. Forget the battery and go with capacitors!

Can't stand it. Too much heavy breathing from Jack bugs the dogsnot outta' me. Wife love's it...Bones and House, which is just ok.

Me, I only make a point to watch American Idol. I'm just hooked. I do so love to see these kids make it, it's awesome and the music ain't bad, either.

me three. No interest in a "suspense for 34 minutes, commercial breaks for 26."

There aren't. There was a tax credit a few years ago, but that was phased out. They have grown in popularity through the free market - something I like to point out to my liberal friends. The free market, not the government, will ultimately pave the road towards energy savings, and we as conservatives should be heralding, not mocking, an example of this.

Nice voice, nice face, nice smile, nice cleavage.

I expect there is a brain in there too.

Conservatives are a nice package.

Are you hoping for the opportunity to "root around" for it?
