Associated Content ^ | February 16, 2007 | Jeff Musall

With the bare fact being that no Republican in recent memory has been able to win a major contest without at least the tacit backing of the religious right, Rudy Guliani might be trying to buck that trend.

Typical leftist tactic, calling those in opposition to liberalism "haters."

These tactics are more evidence of the disturbed Rudy cultists. Cognitive dissonance is used in politics is very similar to the way it is applied in cults.....such as Scientology.

Those of us who don't immediately agree to vote for Giuliani in November 2008 are depicted as a "problem." We are constantly ridiculed, demeaned, and accused of hate.

Same insidious tactics used by Scientologists to get others to bend to the cult.

Posting "dissonance" is intended to hammer an intellectual nail into established conservative beliefs so as to create a "new reality."

The desired result is to discredit and marginalize conservatives......so as to strengthen the Rudy cult.

I'd bet a tidy sum that many who distain people for being "Republican In Name Only" aren't Republicans themselves, but are looking for the salvation of the republic in voting for the Vegetarian/AustrianSchoolOfEconomics Party.

No, but you are not going to slap on a fancy Madison Avenue label and sell me the same thing... you can pay for it yourself...

Funny. As one who supports Rudy, I'd say those are the tactics of those who vehemently oppose him. I guess it's all a matter of perspective. Either that, or one of us is "projecting."

Since it is evident that Rudy Giuliani shows disdain for the Religious Right, he stands to lose that entire block of voters if the attacks continues. You have no one to blame for a President Hillary than yourselves.

I think Hillary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani should get divorces and then just go ahead and get married to each other...

Then we could have two liberal New York lawyers in the Whitehouse rotting the country from the inside out..

Devastating post, Liz.

These people don't get it.

Many of us conservative Republicans have been battling liberalism for our entire adult lives. Some of us started even earlier!

Today, many Republicans believe its right and proper to accept a political reality outside the conservative mainstream. These people have no real comprehension of what it means to stand by ones principle and personal integrity. Caving into the liberal agenda is the same as accepting the Democratic Party platform.

Guess they don't like some of us not marching in lockstep! I thought that was what being a Conservative was all about -- we could think for ourselves and not be mind-numbed Robots (Rush)!

Well, those were the old days. You know, back when Newt wrote the Contract for American and it didn't mention a single solitary word about abortion or guns or gays.

He had plenty of time to talk about welfare reform and national security, etc., and since those social issues are so all darned important, I'm just stunned he didn't even think to give them a sentence or two.

And nowadays, freepers are actually suggesting re-education camps for posters who actually like Rudy. Sounds just like Communism to me.

Ant waving 6 legs and 2 antennae, skittering back and forth and yelling in ant-language: "No to Rudy --- means --Hillary--- and that means--- Islamobeetles bomb Anthattan and Antsylvania! O No-o-o-o!"

Your method of argumentation relies on suppositions which you can fantasize and multiply at will. Not very convincing, but no doubt highly entertaining to some.

Those of us who don't immediately agree to vote for Giuliani in November 2008 are depicted as a "problem."

Actually your problem may be reading comprehension.

I've been on most, if not all, of the Rudy threads. The vast majority of Rudy FReepers (with a ping list well over 140 or so now) have consistenly said that we're quite okay if Rudy is not your choice.

I say that 10-20 times a day. It's okay if Rudy happens not to be your choice. He happens to be mine.

With very rare exceptions, I have not spoken against any of the other candidates.

On the other hand, Rudy and his supporters seems to be the one everyone loves to hate.

I haven't seen anybody saying "you" or your compatriots are a problem because you're not supporting Rudy.

You're a "problem" because you can't believe that conservatives are supporting Rudy. They are.

You're a "problem" because you can't believe Christians are supporting Rudy. They are.

Rudy supporters are being called RINOs, abortionists, gun-grabbers, pro-gay-agenda, liberals, leftists, socialists, Marxists and more.

THAT'S why you're a "problem."

I don't care who you support. Find a candidate and talk 'em up.

It's not OUR fault that Rudy is the only one making news.

I'm not keeping a ping list (for Rudy anyway), I was simply pinging those listed in the post to which I was replying.

Consider this the last you'll hear from me.

I agree with Rush...

Turning the '08 general election into a second Democrat primary is not going to win...

Come on, Corin, you have to be kidding.
How many times do we have to hear the canard, 'by not voting for Rudy you're electing Hillary!'? 'You people want Hillary to win!'.

I have not seen one post by an 'anti-Giuliani' in which that person has promoted Hillary. Quite the contrary, I see many where the 'anti-Giulianis' state unequivocally that they are very much against her and that they know she'll wreak havoc if elected.
Hopefully this debate will end after the primary season is over and Rudolph Giuliani is but a distant memory.

I trust you're keeping well. :^)
