Associated Content ^ | February 16, 2007 | Jeff Musall

With the bare fact being that no Republican in recent memory has been able to win a major contest without at least the tacit backing of the religious right, Rudy Guliani might be trying to buck that trend.

You know what they say, 'if you can't beat'em then join them.. that seems to be the cave-in attitude of the Rudybots. They've thrown in the towel on conservative issues before the fight even started.

This country is lost in the wilderness because mostly we do not stick to guiding principles, moral and social values.. political expedience is the rule of thumb but eventually the pathway to hell. I too must trust God.

Turning the general election into a second Democrat primary is out of the question for me...

Piety has nothing to do with it, I am an atheist.

Okay, how about arrogance, conceit or head-up-the-buttedness?

By defending and supporting a candidate who has actually spoken IN FAVOR of abortion, and one who has even offered to pay for his own daughter to abort, you are in effect supporting abortion. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

My strategy is to educate the public on the psychological damage done to the mother from abortion, and to ban the procedure. The numbers are beginning to drop, no thanks to the liberals.

Thinking that Rudy Giuliani would place constructionists on the Supreme Court is the height of ignorance.

How about the issues?

You see your misapplied definition of arrogance or conceit as a "sin" of some sort?

I won't bend my knee in acquiescence to your stupidity and I won't apologize for it either... I do not like the dopers, I do not like the perverts, I do not like the gun grabbers and I do not like the baby killers. Good luck in the Democrat primary.

"That's eerily reminiscent of another kind of person than a conservative, if you know what I mean."

Gee, that's so subtle /s

I'm both a social and a fiscal conservative, I don't believe the two are mutually exclusive. Clearly the best chance the GOP has of retaining the WH is w/ a candidate that represents both wings of the party. Any candidate that repreesents only one side of the party WILL be defeated.

Frankly, I find Rudy an engaging person and would consider him if he stepped up to the social issues as a conservative, in the absence of that I'm afraid I can't support him. I have no ax to grind, its not personal, its just that lukewarm reps are a waste of everyone's time.

Look at W. He was not the conservative candidate in '00 but he won the GOP because he was "electable". The best that we can say about his performance is taxcuts and WOT, everywhere else he's been dismal (and let's face it on WOT he's been less than brilliant).

Still, I think everyone here agrees that a hitlery pres. would be a disaster of biblical proportions.

If we must have this debate now is the time for it, but I hope that we can elevate the rhetoric above the "you're a facist" level of discourse.

The issues are too important, our resources are not infinite and our enemies never sleep.

Delphinium, never forget that Judas claimed Christ, too...as did Jimmy Carter once upon a time.

If you take the time to use the search feature and read the previous postings of about a dozen or so of the most vocal Rudy posters here, it reveals some intersting things about their views and sheds more light on why they support a liberal for president.

Maybe Pat Buchanan, but not necessarily. A pro-life spoiler is all that is required.

Sure. Those are not the votes he's looking for.

Unfortunately for Rudy, they ARE folks who vote the primaries.

I have done that and was trying with sarcasism, (except I don't think he got it),to say that a Christian should to watch which bunch he was aligning himself too.

Wouldn't you consider this a form of spiritual adultery?

What I mean is that this will eventually come down to a choice between 2 candidates.

Right now there are atleast 6 in this primary. Why would a professing Christian jump on board with the most ungodly early on?

How can a Christian stand for Rudy as president when they know where he stands on murder, and the homosexual agenda, etc....

From the beginning it was known and said often that this republic was only to be kept by a moral, and God fearing people.

The political realm is quite a nasty place, I believe it is where I have been lead. But to support and promote good, righteous men , not just anyone who can win.

All I know is whatever comes , I am going to try and be faithful to God and what He has called me to do.

Do it now? Feel free to search mine.

Or perhaps since you spend your time going around comparing those with whom you disagree politically with Judas, your time would be better spent searching your own heart.

But alas, I realize I'm probably wasting my time.

I don't believe you are one of them we are talking about.

But there are some in the bunch.

What I am trying to say is be careful who you align yourself with.
