Ten Years After Empire State Terror Attack, the Truth Comes Out
Little Green Footballs ^ | February 18, 2007 | Charles Johnson

Posted on 02/18/2007 9:42:28 AM PST by faq

In February 1997, Palestinian English teacher Ali Abu Kamal went to the 86th floor observation deck of the Empire State Building, pulled out a gun, and opened fire, killing one person and wounding six others before killing himself. Even though he carried letters ranting about the US and Israel, the media heavily promoted the story that he was despondent and suicidal after a financial loss.

Today the killer’s daughter—who works for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian “refugees” (UNRWA)—admitted that this story was a complete fraud. She wants the world to know that her father was “martyred for patriotic motivations.”

And the family was directly instructed to lie about it by the Palestinian Authority: Killer’s daughter admits it was political.

GAZA CITY - Ali Abu Kamal’s relatives say they are tired of lying about why the Palestinian opened fire on the observation deck of Empire State Building, killing a tourist and injuring six other people before committing suicide.

Kamal’s widow insisted after the shooting spree that the attack was not politically motivated. She said that her husband had become suicidal after losing $300,000 in a business venture.

But in a stunning admission, Kamal’s 48-year-old daughter Linda told the Daily News that her dad wanted to punish the U.S. for supporting Israel - and revealed her mom’s 1997 account was a cover story crafted by the Palestinian Authority.

A Palestinian Authority official advised us to say the attack was not for political reasons because that would harm the peace agreement with Israel,” she told The News on Friday. “We didn’t know that he was martyred for patriotic motivations, so we repeated what we were told to do.”

But three days after the shootings, Kamal’s family got a copy of a letter that was found on his body, they said. The letter said he planned the violence as a political statement, his daughter said. “When we wanted to clarify that to the media, nobody listened to us,” she said. “His goal was patriotic. He wanted to take revenge from the Americans, the British, the French and the Israelis.”

She said the family became certain that he carried out the attack for political reasons after reading his diary. “He wrote that after he raised his children and made sure that his family was all right he decided to avenge in the highest building in America to make sure they get his message,” said Linda, who works for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees.

She said her mom burned the diary, fearing that it would cause the family trouble.

So when will the truth come out about the murders at Trolly Square in SLC? We're to believe this killer was a "good kid" after all.

"You're absolutely right, Doc. It's worth noting that for all of this silly nonsense about how "tough" Rudy Giuliani would be against terrorism, the simple truth is that he has a well-documented track record of disgracefully opposing the most effective means of protection Americans have against the kind of "terrorism" they are most likely to encounter in their lives -- i.e., a couple of homosexual Muslims driving around the D.C. suburbs shooting people at random, some loser Muslim from Bosnia randomly shooting people in a Salt Lake City shopping mall, an Iranian-born @sshole driving his car onto a crowded sidewalk in North Carolina, a Palestinian-born malcontent shooting people on the observation deck of the Empire State Building (right in Rudy Giuliani's own New York City!), etc.

In the aftermath of the last incident on that list, Giuliani stood up and used the attack not to call for Americans to protect themselves from this kind of crap, but to promote his anti-gun agenda.

'Tough on terrorism,' my @ss."

Worth repeating.... Thank you.

One of the principal purposes of the Second Amendment was to empower the people to deal with an enemy from within.

The unorganized militia was the only force that took down a plane to end a terrorist threat on 9-11. The unorganized militia took down the DC Sniper. It is the unorganized militia that is most capable of suppressing illegal immigration and exposing domestic terror cells. Rudy wants to deball it.

MAYOR'S MESSAGE

Mayor's WINS Address

Sunday, March 2, 1997

Good morning. It has been a week since the terrible tragedy that happened last Sunday at the Empire State Building. And even as we grieve for the families and our hearts and prayers go out to them, perhaps we can use this senseless tragedy to re-energize the fight for gun control. A man came to this country from Gaza City on December 24th of last year. Ali Hassan Abu Kamal first arrived in New York and then traveled by plane to Melbourne, Florida, where he checked into a motel.

If this man had wanted to get a driver's license in the state of Florida, he would have had to have gone through some necessary and sensible requirements.

In Florida, you have to take a written test and a driving test to show you understand the rules of safety and the rules of the road. You have to take an eye exam, and your background is checked to see that you don't have a record of being a dangerous driver.

But he didn't want a driver's license, he wanted a gun. And he wanted a gun that could slaughter human beings quickly -- namely, a semi-automatic weapon. And it's much easier to get a license to buy a gun, even a semi-automatic weapon in Florida, than it is to get a driver's license.

All he needed was a registration card that he received by establishing residency at a cheap motel on the same day that he bought the gun. He then bought a .380 Beretta at gun store called The Oaks Trading Post.

This is the same gun store that sold the mass murderer William Cruse a semi-automatic weapon in 1987 that he used to kill six people, including two police officers in Florida.

If Mr. Abu Kamal would have tried to buy a gun in New York, he would not have been able to do so. Because in New York our gun control laws are much stricter and more responsible than in Florida.

To purchase a gun in the State of New York you have to give your full name, your date of birth, your residence, your occupation. You have to prove that you're a United States citizen, you have to show you are of good character, competency and integrity. And you have to demonstrate a real need for the weapon.

And thanks in part to our stricter gun control laws, crime is down dramatically in New York City. Shootings are down over 50 percent. Murder is down over 50 percent. But the fact is that 90 percent of the guns we take out of the hands of criminals in New York City come from out of the State of New York.

We need a federal law that bans all assault weapons, and if in fact you do need a handgun you should be subjected to at least the same restrictions -- and really stronger ones -- that exist for driving an automobile.

The United States Congress needs to pass uniform licensing for everyone carrying a gun. Congress must do more to prevent a tragedy like the one that happened at the Empire State Building from ever happening again.

From Gracie Mansion, this is Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

"Is that who you want to give guns to?"

Doesn't matter. These people WILL get their weapons one way or another. Politicians like Rudy just get off on disarming the rest of us. They can't help but KNOW the truth, yet they utterly and callously disregard the truth in their zeal to have a disarmed and compliant nation of sheeples. That is why I will NEVER vote for a McGiuliRomney.

Ha! What a dope. The highest building in America is the Chicago Sears Tower. It was then and still is now. No wonder these S**t for brains losers are so easliy convinced to "martyr" themselves after committing heinous acts of murder.

Here's an incomplete list of Sudden Jihad Syndrome terrorists who were all described as acting alone by the cops and/or FBI:

Ali R. Warrayat
An Arizona Home Depot employee jumped out of the car’s path. To drown out the man’s yells, Warrayat reached over to his car radio and blasted Arabic music before crashing through the front doors.

Charles Bishop (Bishra)
A note written by the 15-year-old boy who crashed a Cessna into a Tampa office building indicated he supported Osama bin Laden and that the act was deliberate, authorities say.

Haider Mohammed
Contacted by Palm Springs Police, FBI investigators described Muslim who was arrested after threatening to 'Kill All Jews' as "not a person of interest."

Hesham Mohamed Ali Hadayet
The suspect, Egyptian-born Hesham Mohamed Ali Hadayet, left two people dead and five injured at the El Al airlines ticket counter at Los Angeles International Airport before being fatally shot by a security guard.

John Muhammad
Federal prosecutors filed a criminal complaint, charging alleged Beltway Sniper John Muhammad with 20 felony counts, including extortion and intent to commit murder.

Marc Lepine (Gamal Gharbhi)
For 45 minutes on Dec. 6, 1989 an enraged gunman roamed the corridors of Montreal's École Polytechnique and killed 14 women.

Mohammed Ali Alayed
After apparently undergoing a religious awakening, a Saudi Arabian student in Houston killed his Jewish friend by slashing his throat.

Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar
Just-graduated student named Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar, 22, and an Iranian immigrant, drove a sport utility vehicle into a crowded pedestrian zone at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He struck nine people.

Naveed Afzal Haq
Eyewitnesses told the Seattle News that Mr. Haq announced, "I'm a Muslim American; I'm angry at Israel," and then began shooting. He killed one woman and wounded five others.

Omeed Aziz Popal
Up to 14 hurt in San Francisco hit-and-run spree. Seven are critical. The driver believed to have struck and killed a man in Fremont earlier.

Sulejman Talovic
Police Tuesday identified the gunman accused in Monday night's Trolley Square shooting as Sulejman Talovic, an 18-year-old Bosnian refugee who lived in Salt Lake City.

When you have victims of Sudden Jihad Syndrome piling up all over the country, the reasonable person would conclude -- that's terrorism.

Whether the root cause of these rampages is in the genes of these maniacs or the result of a conspiracy is completely irrelevant.

The list is longer than we know. Federal and Local law enforcement's campaign to suppress vigilantism against Muslims.......and illegal aliens.

Doesn't matter if it's a case of terrorism or drug rings or espionage, the courts dictate the rules to law enforcement giving terrorist activity and criminal activity free reign. Of course the fifth column media aids and abets in this PC deception. Shoot your neighbor's cat for digging up and befouling your garden and you're on the national news for a week; Palestinian man shoots seven people at the ESB in NYC......more on page 8.

RINO-rudy: even in the Second Amendment, it refers to firearms in the context of a well regulated militia, and well regulated is what we're trying to accomplish.

ONLY a jack-booted-thug (a northeastern-corridor "LAWR"-enforcement storm trooper or gun-grabbing lawyer/bureaucrat) would think that the word "regulated", as it was written in the 2nd Amendment (and other papers/arguments of the time) means that the GOVERNMENT should create laws, issue edicts, or produce mandates to CONTROL how we practice our 2nd Amendment RIGHTS.

In the context of the times, the ORIGINAL meaning of our Founding Fathers, where the 2nd Amendment is concerned, is, in short (from guncite.com):

"to put in good order" is the correct interpretation of well regulated, signifying a well disciplined, trained, and functioning militia.

The "militia" of course, is NOT only the National Guard, as the anti-gun, anti-2A liberals want us to believe, but essentially, all law-abiding, INDIVIDUAL American citizens.

I can see a President rudy (I just threw up in my throat a bit) after a rare, but terrible tragedy involving the misuse of a firearm, using his executive powers and his Treasury Secretary (in much the way clinton did), to make entire CLASSES of firearms illegal, except for those willing to pay big bucks and jump through government hoops under the NFA (National Firearms Act).

Additionally, I can see RINO-rudy using any and all methods, beyond the tactics clinton used, to further erode our 2A rights. It's in his blood.

I don't trust him with our 2nd Amendment rights, and for that reason, and MANY others, he should NOT be allowed to be elevated to the highest office in the land.

If you think about it, RINO-rudy has vigorously pushed more gun-control on MANY occasions.

Even hillary hasn't done that!

Stoopid moo! Her father was a MURDERER. Period. She is a LIAR. Period.

A difference of opinion, then.
I take her at her word.

Whether it is the absolue truth and a fact, or whether she is simply playing the mindless muslim propaganda card, makes no never mind to me.

I take it at face value.

You are so right. Stinkin RINO and their crazy gun views. Guns for everyone should be as easy to get as candy bars.

Real Republicans would be at the airports greeting foreigners, particularly Moslem, particularly "Palestinians", with 20% off coupons to buy a gun at NO RINO'S GUN SHOP. It would generate damn good business.

An even smarter real Republican, from the ANGRY FOREIGNERS ARE ARMED SHOULDN'T YOU BE TOO GUN SHOP, will at the same time be at the airport to greet Americans with a 5% off coupon and a warning that Hamid just got off the plane from the Mideast and he is pissed and armed.

Real Republicans can go to the electorate with the campaign slogan: "Vote Republican. We'll be there to shoot the guy who shot you and you family."

Thanks Spiff for your comprehensive post on RINO-rudy's GUN-GRABBING response to what was, essentially, an islamic radical TERROR attack.

I didn't have the docs to prove what my memory of this event was, but now it's out there for all to see.

Keep up the good fight against this, and all other liberal RINOs that are trying to HIJACK the Republican party.

I would not describe him as a crazed Islamofascist.

He was a POS loser who rationally chose to murder random Americans at an iconic venue in a religious rite (liturgy?). The purpose - a priapistic, adolescent desire for sexual gratification as promised by the Great Pedophile (P*ssBUH).

Yes, Linda Abu Kamal, your dad was a real patriot. /s

Yup...that's the most pressing threat this country faces...gun control...

It isn't international terror...it isn't Al Qaeda...it's Iran or Syria....or even Hezbollah...

it's Rudy Giuliani who wants to take your guns away...

it isn't a border that leaks like a sieve...it isn't a federal government that will not enforce border security allowing OTMs to cross into our country...it's Rudy Giuliani who wants to take your guns away...

We are headed down the sh*tter as a nation and we're worried about Rudy Giuliani supporting gun control in 1997.

The House of Representatives debates a non-binding resolution against the POTUS plan during a time of war, Republicans in the Senate manage to avoid such a debate and vote, but we've got our knickers in a bunch because Rudy is trying to take your guns away.

I am fast reaching the point of despair for my country.

Yep...

Right out of the anti-gun-fanatic liberal demonRAT playbook, trying to compare DRIVING a CAR with a CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT that is NOT supposed to be infringed.

Thanks for the post garv.
