The Second Amendment |
Ann you are smarter than many give you credit for....just know that some of us will support you no matter what.
;-)
The line should be drawn before "Hitler" for both those that compare Bush to Hitler and those who use the term "Hitlery" when referencing H. Clinton.
You cannot be nasty enough to the people whose agenda is to turn America into a Euro-style, secular-socialist welfare state by undermining the traditional family unit, belittling traditional American values, and creating government addicts by offering "free" stuff the way slimy drug pushers do. Screw them. I wish Ann wouldn't hold back so much.

Just because something CAN be said doesn't mean it SHOULD be said. There's a big difference, and there's nothing wrong with being civil.
As far as I am concerned, Ann can do no wrong.
I haven't commented on any of the other threads about Ms. Coulter's remark at CPAC because I wasn't outraged as so many others appeared to be. Initially I laughed because of rehab and then after reading so many condemnations from fellow FReepers I decided I might need to rethink my first response.
May I inquire as to whether there's room at the Inn? After careful consideration I find I'm in need of rehab too. Or maybe I only need find a dancing instructor who can lead me through the intricate steps of dancing on eggshells as it appears that's the only dance conservatives are allowed.
Totally agree.
Oh so correct. We have a White House to win and we must not let the adversaries divide us or worst of all, we must not divide ourselves. Speak good of each other or be silent.
Just not politically expedient. Another topic altoghether.
There's no defense. Ann made a dumb comment and used an epithet that isn't suitable for polite folk. Even in the most charitable reading, it was rude, it was nasty, and we should aspire to better.
There's a reasonable argument that Coulter does not speak for the conservative cause or the Republican party, but booking her to give the closing speech at CPAC kind of undermines that. It's a little tricky to disconnect yourself from your own keynote speaker.
Coulter is in danger of becoming a latter-day John Rocker, with (slightly) longer hair, (slightly) larger breasts, and a (slightly) better curve ball. The more outrageous she is, the greater her fame. Coulter and Rocker both made a career of pushing the envelope. No one told them they'd busted it until they said "You see that line back there? Yeah. That's where you crossed it."
Morton Downey, Jr. Jerry Springer. Howard Stern. Suns rise and suns set, and eventually anyone who makes a living from being provocative runs out of give-a-damn. Ann, your clock is ticking.
>>That so many conservatives want Ann banned from CPAC is a sad indicator of the state of conservatism.<<
Do you mean you heard that from CPAC attendees or Freepers or both?
Thanks.
Wonderful post. My feelings exactly.
The REAL problem in this country is that many think a greater harm is done by mentioning that using that word can get you sent to rehab, than the fact that using it can get you sent to rehab!
