And yet when Ann Coulter makes a joke about the dopey act of running off to rehab for saying a bad word, liberals and a few conservatives go positively apoplectic. Once again, Ms. Coulter finds herself in the cross-hairs of righteously indignant people who cant believe how crass she can be. Full article here

Silky Pony Edwards gets beaten up by a girl; film at 11
I have a one-word description for the lynch mob's reaction to Coulter, but it turns out that you have to go into rehab if you use the word "queer," so I haven't decided.
Liberals hate it when facts get in their way, but Ann Coulter did not call John Edwards a "faggot." That would be inappropriate since the Breck Girl's a . . . girl. Then again, if Coulter had called Edwards a "lesbian," I suppose libbies would be cool with that since that's what Kerry and Edwards called Cheney's daughter on national television during the debates. Or maybe with all the talk of Democrats wanting to surrender in Iraq, attacking Ann is their way of showing just how tough they can be . . . by attacking a girl. Which is what Ann is being accused of in Edwards's case, come to think of it.
Maybe what liberals hate so much about Ann-The-Straight-Shooter is the part about straight. With beauty centerfolds Rosie O'Donnell and Helen Thomas as their spokeshags, maybe libbies are just a tad jealous. Can't blame them. The closest thing in that party to someone who looks like a woman is John Edwards.
To their credit, at least liberals aren't reacting to Coulter by burning and looting churches and shooting nuns in the back like those darlingly warm and fuzzy Muslims (they keep defending) whenever they get their feelings hurt.
Ann's remarks come on the heels of news that a suicide bomber had targeted Cheney, but missed by a whole mile, so libbies were already pretty depressed. Poor things. (The bomber tried to blow up the Veep, but at least he didn't use the word "faggot.")
Coulter is accused of referring to John Edwards with an outrageously derogatory term for a gay man -- "Democratic candidate." Members of the gay community found her remarks offensive because she callously associated gays with John Edwards.
In response to Coulter's comments, Edwards issued a statement . . . attacking the girl. He expressed shock because Ann Coulter was being Ann Coulter. I hear that Edwards was so distressed, he broke a nail and had to be rushed to the beauty salon for a full facial, a bouffant hairdo and complete French manicure!
Edwards gorged himself with chocolate afterward.
To show that no girl is going to intimidate him, Edwards then rushed out an e-mail begging supporters to raise $100,000 in "Coulter Cash" to make her stop and show "every would-be Republican mouthpiece that their bigoted attacks will not intimidate" him. Whining about a girl attacking you and hurting your feelings then asking for cash struck me as soooooo unlady-like.
Interestingly, Edwards did not deny the charge he says Ann made. His supporters say he doesn't have to. Which is probably true since no one doubts he's an effeminate pansy.
Rumor has it that Edwards briefly considered suing Ann, but she was smart enough to buy "offensive emissions" credits or offsets, which means she's "emissions" neutral.
Actually, only a sissified wussy nancy boy -- the technical term is "male liberal" -- would have a problem with Ann's remarks anyway, since this is all she said: "I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate, John Edwards, but it turns out that you have to go into rehab if you use the word 'faggot.'" Just to be extra nice, she even avoided using that other "slur" word Democrats are always crying about -- "Democrat," instead calling Edwards a "DemocratIC candidate." Anyway, many gays use the word "Faggot" on each other, among other things.
Of course, if Coulter were a liberal Democrat and joked about a Republican in the same way, or expressed sadness that Cheney had not been murdered in a bomb blast set off by the Taliban, or called Bush a monkey and a liar and a murderer, or talked about the "extra chromosome Right Wing," or called New York City "Hymietown," or called U.S. troops "Nazis, Soviets in their gulags," or called all 9/11 victims "little Eichmanns," the same libbie lynch mob would say, 'What a very insightful liberal Democrat she is!' In fact, Edwards would hire her as a blogger.
But! The 'growing consensus' among the language Gestapo set is that her "faggot" remark is career-ending. Ann's 'career-ending' remark at CPAC comes many months after her career-ending remark about those four 9/11 "harpies," which was many months after her career-ending remark about Arab "ragheads," which was many months after her career-ending remark about "jihad monkey" Ahmaneedajob, which was many months after her career-ending defense of Joe McCarthy in a career-ending bestselling book. National Review dropped Ann as columnist 6 years ago -- one of her first career-enders. USA Today dropped Ann as '04 convention columnist -- another in a long line of career-enders! Books like "Godless" and "Slander" and "Treason" drove even conservatives away -- to the book store. So, yeah, no one will want to read Ann's next bestseller. Any more of these Coulter-career-enders and libbies will all end up in rehab.
In Coulter's current career-ender, her main point (the transcript isn't available in crayon, so liberals still won't get it) wasn't about John Edwards but about free speech -- how those darling 'tolerance' fascists are prone to having meltdowns and getting hysterical over the utterance of certain banned words. Even playground taunts. The libbie meltdowns and hysteria work to control language and thought, Orwell-style. Coulter utters one of the taboo words, the media and the libbies take the bait, then rush to drive her point home by having a meltdown and getting hysterical. At bottom, it was a joke about what a joke it is that celebrities end up in rehab for nothing more than gaffs because liberals get hysterical even over playground taunts and can't stand getting their feelings hurt. They're OK with gagging Coulter because she doesn't have the hots for Orwell like they do.
Libbies say they rollick in nuance, so naturally the nuance boys missed the nuance in what Coulter was saying. Let's try this REAL SLOW so maybe even libbies might get it. Coulter . . . Did . . . Not . . . Call . . . John . . . Edwards . . . a . . . "faggot." If she had, it would go something like this: "John Edwards is a faggot." Got it? In Ann's CPAC remarks that's got liberals sobbing and hysterical, the name "John Edwards" is in the same sentence as "faggot," but it's up to the listener to make an association. Could've been one of Silky Pony's campaign staffers, or former campaign staffers -- for example, that blogger he fired who looks like a guy dressed as a chick. Anyway, I was just about to mention that "a bundle of twigs, sticks, or branches bound together" is also called "faggot," but I'd hate to end up in therapy.
Wikipedia notes that long ago "recanting heretics had to wear an embroidered figure of a faggot on their sleeve." Some experts say that still happens today. For example, Kerry wore John Edwards on his sleeve.
Some have done it, but it's a non sequitur to compare what Coulter said to what that idiot Bill Maher said last Friday. Maher was bummed out that Cheney didn't get wasted in a suicide bombing, and said so. Coulter was only joking. Maher wasn't. Luckily for Maher, he said it on his TV show, so nobody saw it.
Anyway, that's...
My Two Cents...
"JohnHuang2"
Has Edwards denied being a faggot yet or is he just outraged to be called one ?
JH2, I've said it before, and I'll say it again. If you're not getting paid to write this stuff, you should be. These are GREAT essays. Seriously.
Press on, JohnHuang2!
Classic...
If you ever start a ping list for your editorials, put me on it. ;^)
Thursday I eagerly awaut Ann's column. Saturday I eagerly await yours.
Have a great weekend.
((((((((PING))))))) (read it and weep)
This is exactly the point that I think Ann was trying to demonstrate with this comment. Also true for that supposed "career-ender" about the 9/11 wives - the context of that quote was how in modern therapuetic PC-squishy America there are things you're not allowed to say because libs go nuts. So what do the libs do, right on cue? Go nuts. Very few people seem to comment on the fact that their reactions prove her point. Ain't she brilliant?!
That is the funniest statement in this editorial. That is like pouring salt into an open sore.
My take: bad joke, move on. Being pro-first amendment means that Ann has the right to say what she did, and I have the right to say I think it was a bad joke. The vitriol on both sides has been excessive.
Just my $.02, bro.
Loose the cannons.
Coulter, in her typical no holds barred fashion, poked a stick in their leftists, liberal, treasonous, hypocritical eye and they have responded by throwing a temper tamtrum.
Excellent article in simply pointing that out.
"The closest thing in that party to someone who looks like a woman is John Edwards."
Ha, ha. Limp wristed Edwards will end up crying in public before his campaign is over.
If anyone has doubts about this super rich maggot infected pretty boy or girlie boy, they should go to the link below to watch and listen to: John Edwards Feeling Pretty!

Far be it from me to allow the party of death, taxes, pseudoscience, and faggots to define what constitutes acceptable speech or behavior.
By the way, Mark Finkelstein kicked me off NewsBusters for merely mentioning that Edwards was "effeminate!" After your piece he'd probably turn you over to the IslamoNazi's for "beheading!" LOL! Great writing!
