Iran's ex-deputy defense minister smuggled top-secret maps and documents - some of which prove terror ties around the Middle East - out of Tehran when he defected to the West, former colleagues said yesterday.
The confidential files Ali Reza Asghari brought with him provide details about Iran's links to terrorist groups such as Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad as well as the radical Mahdi Army and Badr Corps in Iraq, according to an influential Arab newspaper.
An Iranian colleague told the paper, Al-Sharq al-Awsat, that Asghari also had secret documents concerning Iran's nuclear missile program.
Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards are beefing up defenses around the country's nuclear reactors out of fear that the United States and Israel, now armed with the new intelligence, could attack them, the Saudi newspaper Al-Watan reported yesterday.

A bit more info on Asghari.
How about his ties to Murtha?
I'm sure that the Pelosi/Murtha & their netroot overseers will declare this either a Bush/Rove lying dis-information campaign. or if proven real, they will say that there is no reason to believe the defector because he is obviously crazy for not wanting to live in a great country like Iran.
OUTSTANDING!!!
How about this one -
"These files are secret documents that were illegally obtained by the Bush Regime which is once again shredding the Constitution for it's own selfish, partisan gains. These documents and the defector must be returned at once to Iran, and a properly approved search warrant must be completed and served before we can use any of the contents of these files. And of course, we need another investigation to determine which laws the Bush Regime broke in stealing these documents!"
How much do you pay someone like him. If Osama's scalp is worth 25meg, this guys info is literally priceless. Think how many of our soldier's lives will be saved. Think about the coming attack on Iran or the incite into the local political scene that may enable us to back the right faction to overthrow the mullahs. This is the intelligence success of the century. So much for our piss pour intelligence agencies that can't get anything right. This is an amazing success that has the potential to totally turn the WOT in our favor for good. Now if we can just get the Chicom defense minister to defect.

I'm curious, did you compose this yourself (sarcastically of course), or did you copy it from DU or some other lib. site post? It is getting harder and harder these days to separate the parody from the serious.
Yeah! As much as I want to jump for joy over this, caution tells me to wait and see. In the back of my mind I'm wondering whether this is a massive plant by the Iranians to throw us off their real intentions. I would think the CIA would have considered this going into the operation.......???????
what ties?
Sounds like something this one Lefty, on a neutral politics board I'm on, would post. I'm dead serious.
You're joking, right?
I wrote that one myself, and only half jokingly. I can easily see some on the left take that up as a serious argument, and the media running with it. Pretty damned sad, isn't it?
I'm not suggesting it. I'm just leery of the situation.
What is a nuclear missile? I assumed most missiles were powered by chemical reactions of one form or another. 12th imam alien technology?
Maybe.....
Yes, I know what you mean. He said the same thing just as a possibility. He learned to be a skeptic from me.
WAY OFF TOPIC:
The above article was credited, "By ORON DAN in Jerusalem and ANDY SOLTIS in New York".
Andy Soltis? Could that possibly be Andy Soltis, the chess player? Is he still around?
Anybody know?
