Fred Thompson's Wife Urges Run For White House!
Townhall.com ^ | Saturday, March 24, 2007 | Robert D. Novak

Posted on 03/24/2007 6:49:59 AM PDT by TitansAFC

...Close friends of Fred Thompson say his wife Jeri is urging him to take the plunge later this year and run for the Republican presidential nomination.

The former senator from Tennessee and current actor on "Law & Order," in private conversation, makes it clear that he is seriously interested in launching a candidacy that has attracted extraordinary attention over the last two weeks. However, he does not plan to announce his candidacy in the immediate future.

The major rap against Thompson is that he was not a hard worker during his eight years in the Senate. His friends respond that this is an easily correctable error and that the same complaint was made about Ronald Reagan before he ran for president...

Where is Armitage mentioned in the article?

I'm not talking about Armitage, I'm talking about Novak sitting on his ass and allowing Fitzgerald's farce of an investigation to go forward and not stepping up to tell the truth so that an innocent man (Scooter Libby) might not be prosecuted and persecuted for no reason.

Novak is a RINO-faux-journalist who has not an ounce of integrity.

The moment he announces his candidacy, they have to take the Law & Order episode with him in them off the air (including re-runs).

He's going to have to take a major pay-cut from then on.

If I were him, I wouldn't be in a big hurry.

How in the world does a private citizen disallow a Federal prosecutor from doing what he's doing. /writhing sarcasm

"That seals it for me. I'd like to see all Senators work much less."

In terms of Senatorial accomplishments, with zero (0) he'd be tied with Obama, Edwards and Kerry and ahead of Hillary and McCain.

If he promises to spend 8 hours of each and every day out on the golf course as President, I'd send him my $200 for sure!

OK, we'll take it step by step:

All Novak did was report what was told to him.

Novak selectively reported what was told to him, big difference.

How in the world does a private citizen disallow a Federal prosecutor from doing what he's doing

Had Novak revealed that Armitage was the leaker, there would have been no need for an investigation by Fitzgerald, and Fitzfong would have had no choice but to shut down his money-wasting judicial jihad.

What "truth" is that? That Armitage was the one he got the info from?

Exactly. Armitage is a gutless weasel who was never in favor of the liberation of Iraq, he himself knew that he was the source of the celebrated 'leak', (as was his boss, former SecState Colin Powell, who likewise kept his yap shut), and yet Armitage chose to likewise, let Libby twist in the wind. Novak owed nothing to Armitage whatsoever.

Thanks for sharing your opinion, even though I didn't ask for it.

You responded to my post, that automatically entitles you to my opinion.

Thanks for playing.

A very serious rap, considering he only had one term and left for Hollywood.

And here is my opinion...It seems to me that you've got your panties twisted in a wad about the wrong person. Your venom should be directed at Fitzy, who knew from almost day one, from Novak himself, exactly who the leaker was.
I do agree with you though that it should've never gone forward regarding Libby.

Loosen the panties a bit, you're turning blue.

I am glad she said "yes". Now if she will raise her fashionable necklines and stay a little quiet during the campaign, Fred can win. GO FRED !!!!!

The major rap against Thompson is that he was not a hard worker during his eight years in the Senate.

Watching "workers" over the years it has been my experience that "fireballs soon burn out" but "steam rollers just keep on rolling"

Old bull and young bull on top of hill, the farmer turns a whole bunch of new heifers into their pasturer. The young bull say let run down there and knock off a couple, Old bull says let's walk down there and do'em all.
