Fox news covered some of Sen. Webb's press conference yesterday in which he discussed the circumstances surrounding the arrest of one of his assistants for posession of a weapon and ammunition on the capital grounds. Being a former infantry soldier, I cut Sen. Webb a lot of slack because he has seen combat up close and was awarded the Navy Cross. However, he did seem a little...too intense at the interview and it appeared he was hanging a subordinate out to dry, which we military guys don't like even though it happens all the time.
So, what do you think fellow freepers?

The People's Republic of Northern Virginia elected this guy. But no matter, we'll suffer him for six years. We've had worse.
He sounds like a despicable individual. And no, I don't care if he carries a pistol to work in his briefcase...but throwing an employee under the bus like that when he could easily diffuse the situation...despicable.
He didn't deny the gun was his.
The aide probably didn't even know the gun was in the bag. heh-heh. /s

In the Senate, "executive assistant" means the guy who drives the senator around and carries the handbag, if your senator is female, or briefcase, if your senator is a male. This person has no legislative or policy respnsibilities whatsoever. He is a well paid handmaiden to Webb.

His eyes darted back and forth. Any body language person will tell you, he is telling lies.
Unhinged? No.
Politician? Yes.

I think he's an angry whackjob. Why is he carrying a loaded revolver into Congress anyway?
