The Back Story: Edwards Surges - Rudy Slumps
WNBC ^ | 3/29/07 | staff

Posted on 03/29/2007 2:41:13 PM PDT by pissant

A new Time Magazine poll out Thursday has a lot of interesting (and not terribly surprising) numbers. They include low levels of support for President Bush, a big majority favoring withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq before September 2008, and a majority believing Bush is trying to "cover up" what happenned in the firing of U.S. Attorneys.

We draw you attention to the Presidential race, though, and the strong bump John Edwards has gotten since the attention surrounding his wife's cancer recurred. Time finds the Democratic Primary race this way:

Clinton at 38%, Obama at 30% and Edwards at 28%.

On the Republican side, Time shows Rudy Giuliani's Republican Primary numbers sinking back to reality after he ran 20 points ahead of John McCain. Following the drip, drip, drip of details about him including his son not talking to him and his third wife being on her third husband, Giuliani stills leads McCain, but now it's 35%-22%.

Keep in mind, however, it is only March, 2007

He is never hysterical or rude.

Thanks for the compliments, Wait4Truth, but you've apparently missed a couple of my posts. There have been a couple where I went ballistic and which I regretted later.

Why is the media reporting on Rudy's spouse, but not Hillary's spouse?

Because liberals don't care about the sexual behavior of those they support.

Why do conservatives bash Hillary's spouse's adultery but ignore Giuliani's?

Because Bill and Hillary have a sham marriage. I would rather have a President who is a least honest about his relationships. Character does count.

If he gets the GOP nod look for a third party candidate to pull in 15%-20%.

Which third party candidate would that be? Ralph Nader?

Who is this imaginary 3rd party candidate you keep claiming half of Republicans will vote for?

Sounds like Rudy's campaign may have sprung a slow leak.

Character does count.

If it does, neither Hillary or Bill or Giuliani have any.

A man of character doesn't publicly cheat on his spouse while in office and estrange himself from his son.

I see they gave no credit to Ann Coulter for, ahem, primping Edwards' candidacy.

BA-Loney. Rush never jumped on Ann. He got a snicker out of it. Levin never jumped on her, Mike gallagher was 110% behind her, and Lars Larson could not have cared less.

Gimme my 10 spot.

Now, what tricks can Shrillary pull to get her numbers up? Bubba having little flings certainly won't bring in the votes.

On the other hand, Hillary's approval numbers were never higher than during the height of the Lewinsky scandal. In the perverse little way that Democrats think, Hillary's becoming a 'victim' of Bubba's next fling would be the only thing that could counter Edwards' wife's cancer.

The good thing is that it wouldn't work in the general election, people don't select people they pity as leaders, but like I said, the victim mentality of most Democrats would cause them to rally around Hillary if she looked like a fool yet again. She actually could start divorce proceedings against him (calling them off after the election, of course) and the feminazis would swoon.

Who ever decides to run. Constitution party, Libertarian the vote may be split over 3,4,5 and 6 or they just might not vote at all. But however it happens Rudy will never win in Nov. The party can dump him now or ride him all the way to a Democratic win. Either way Rudy is going to lose.
