Posted on 03/30/2007 5:05:32 PM PDT by silent_jonny

President Bush visited soldiers and Marines at the physical therapy wing of Walter Reed Army Center in Washington today. Afterwards, the president spoke at Walter Reed’s Red Cross Hall, praising the doctors and nurses for their extraordinary care of the troops and promising that the problems found in the center--and the bureaucracy--will soon be fixed. (Transcript)

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice met with Guinea-Bissau Foreign Minister Antonio Isaac Monteiro and Brazil's Foreign Minister Celso Amorim at the State Department in Washington.

Thanks for posting that...

I do so much grousing...that it really made me realize how well off I do have it.

BUT, most of all, it just reinterated what I STILL feel, no matter what happens, that Pres. Bush made the right choice..and staying is the ONLY choice.

I think one of the "perks" of the job is the chance for photo-ops.

Elections have consequences.

Funny, I didn't hear this part on the news today. /s

I actually saw WJZ news at 4:30 this afternoon. They said that the mold etc were in the hospital!!! then used the sign at the main gate for their visual; then interviewed a soldier with a packed suitcase as he got into a taxi - telling the interviewers that he had a terrible time at Walter Reed because of the mold and the constant sound like water running. The news reporter said this soldier had been treated for PTSD and was on his way to rejoin his unit in New York.

WJZ "news" reporters are flat out liars. This soldier probably had been billeted in Building 18.

One of the things that I appreciate the most about President Bush are what he did today, visiting the troops and the caregivers, encouraging and lifting them up.

LBJ never did this with the troops during the Vietnam war.

And the 'action' had a whole lot more touching in it.

And quite a few bottom pats too. ;)

They are BOTH so affectionate. 'Wicked and wild.' LOL!

I saw this on an earlier thread today. I made the mistake of looking at it at work. I don't think I ever cried at work like I did this afternoon.
