Katara smuggled people to US and Canada on earlier occasions
Snip: A city court yesterday remanded Bharatiya Janata Party MP Babubhai Katara to 11 days' police custody for questioning, a day after he was detained at the airport on charges of misusing the passports of his family to smuggle out a woman and a youth to Canada.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kamini Lau remanded Katara after the police told her that the MP was suspected to have smuggled several people abroad on three occasions earlier on the diplomatic passports of his family members during his visits to the United States and Canada between 2002 and 2005.
Jihad obligatory for every Muslim

US: Heightened threat in Germany
Snip: U.S. diplomatic facilities have increased their security due to a 'heightened threat,' the U.S. Embassy in Berlin said Friday.
Robert Wood, a U.S. embassy spokesman, noted that German authorities had said Germany faces an increased threat of terrorism because its military takes part in missions in Afghanistan and elsewhere.
'U.S. diplomatic and consular facilities in Germany are increasing their security posture,' the embassy said in a statement. 'We are taking these steps in response to a heightened threat situation.'
