So, kerry is....an idiot. Oh hell I could have told you that long before this. I just find it kind of funny that Inhofe and Lott were threatening to shut down all appointments over Hormel and the Democrats were defending the practice. Now it's the Dems screaming bloody murder. Ain't politics fun?

I just found out (work keeps getting in my way).
This is fantastic news. No wonder his nomination was withdrawn during session.

I was somewhat wondering why President Bush didn’t simply force an “Emergency Session” of the congress earlier, as he is able to, in order to get the funding for the troops.
Perhaps the desire, or the capability, to do recess appointments instead is the reason.

If we start denying ambassadorships because of political contributions, no one will ever be confirmed. A major reason people get nominated in the first place is that they have made political monetary contributions.

John kerry and a horse walk in a bar.
The bartender says “Why the long faces?”
Horse: “We are both N-a-y-y-y-y-y-sayers.”

“He should do this with ever spot he can till Jan 2009.”
I hope he does. All recess appointments from here on out will basically serve until Bush’s term ends so there is no reason for Bush not to use recess appointments all he can.

Nice handle but you misspelled ‘stun’ on your meter and the past tense is ‘stunned’ with two n’s.

you sat in the front of the class and got beat up all the time in school didn't you? Actually, no. I usually sat in the back because I was soooo good. No one would beat me up since I was the smallest kid in the class. I just happen to be anal retentive...with or without the hyphen.

Sam Fox is a good man and has made tremendous contributions to the St. Louis Metropolitan area. He will make a great Ambassador for the United States of America.
Congratulations Sam and it’s great to see you in a position to represent the true values of the USA.

“After being attacked by terrorists (via the taking of hostages), Carter and Reagan pay the Iranian regime BILLIONS to release the hostages.”
This is not completely correct. The day Reagan was inaugurated was the day the hostages were released. Reagan could not have paid billions in one day. He didn’t have that kind of money to control on his first day.

As I understand it, the deal was signed 24 hours before Reagan assumed office . . . It was Reagan who actually implemented the specifics, including payment of the ‘ransom’ money.
