~Favorite Movie Quotes ~

(”...But if you threaten to extend your violence, this Earth of yours will be reduced to a burned-out cinder. Your choice is simple. Join us and live in peace, or pursue your present course and face obliteration. We shall be waiting for your answer. The decision rests with you.”)

(”It started - for me, it started - last Thursday, in response to an urgent message from my nurse, I hurried home from a medical convention I’d been attending. At first glance, everything looked the same. It wasn’t. Something evil had taken possession of the town...”)(”Help! Wait! Stop. Stop and listen to me!...These people who’re coming after me are not human!...Look, you fools. You’re in danger. Can’t you see? They’re after you. They’re after all of us. Our wives, our children, everyone. They’re here already. YOU’RE NEXT!”)

(”It’s sad when a mother has to speak the words that condemn her own son. I couldn’t allow them to believe that I would commit murder. They’ll put him away now, as I should have, years ago. He was always bad and in the end, he intended to tell them I killed those girls and that man. As if I could do anything except just sit and stare, like one of his stuffed birds. Oh, they know I can’t even move a finger and I won’t. I’ll just sit here and be quiet, just in case they do suspect me. They’re probably watching me. Well, let them. Let them see what kind of a person I am. I’m not even gonna swat that fly. I hope they are watching. They’ll see. They’ll see and they’ll know and they’ll say, ‘Why, she wouldn’t even harm a fly.’”)

”(”...So we formed ourselves into tight groups...the idea was, the shark comes to the nearest man and he starts poundin’ and hollerin’ and screamin’. Sometimes the shark go away. Sometimes he wouldn’t go away. Sometimes that shark, he looks right into ya, right into your eyes. Y’know, the thing about a shark, he’s got lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll’s eyes. When he comes after ya, he doesn’t seem to be livin’ until he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white, and then - aww, then you hear that terrible high-pitch screamin’, the ocean turns red, and in spite of all the poundin’ and the hollerin’, they all come in and rip ya to pieces...”)

(”As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster. To me, being a gangster was better than being President of the United States...Even before I first wandered into the cabstand for an after-school job, I knew I wanted to be a part of them. It was there that I knew that I belonged. To me, it meant being somebody in a neighborhood that was full of nobodies. They weren’t like anybody else. I mean, they did whatever they wanted. They double-parked in front of a hydrant and nobody ever gave them a ticket. In the summer when they played cards all night, nobody ever called the cops”)

(”So that was Mrs. Lundegaard on the floor in there. And I guess that was your accomplice in the wood chipper. And those three people in Brainerd. And for what? For a little bit of money. There’s more to life than a little money, you know. Don’t you know that? And here ya are, and it’s a beautiful day. Well, I just don’t understand it.”)

(”Look! The moonlight shows us for what we really are! We are not among the living so we cannot die, but neither are we dead! For too long I’ve been parched of thirst and unable to quench it. Too long I’ve been starving to death and haven’t died. I feel nothing. Not the wind on my face nor the spray of the sea, nor the warmth of a woman’s flesh. You best start believing in ghost stories, Miss Turner. You’re in one!”)

Funny you bring up "Commando." That movie featured one of the GAYEST looking henchman in film history. I'm talking about the guy wearing the mesh t-shirt and the Village People moustache.

Speaking of Ah-nold movies, how can anyone forget this great line?:

Amber: "Jesus Christ!"

Ben: "Guess Again!"

That is one of my favorite scenes in the film...where Dick (crothers) realizes that Danny (Lloyd) and he share the shining.

That, and a couple others...

It’s not a movie line, but it is a television line that I’m wishing Blair had used on Iran these past few days:

“I’m coming to get my men.”
-Admiral Adama to Admiral Cain “Battlestar Galactica Season 2.5”

Dark Helmet: Careful, you idiot! I said across her nose, not up it!

Laser Gunner: Sorry, sir! I’m doing my best!

Dark Helmet: Who made that man a gunner?

Major A—hole: I did, sir. He’s my cousin.

Dark Helmet: Who is he?

Colonel Sandurz: He’s an a—hole, sir.

Dark Helmet: I know that! What’s his name?

Colonel Sandurz: That is his name, sir. A—hole, Major A—hole!

Dark Helmet: And his cousin?

Colonel Sandurz: He’s an a—hole too, sir. Gunner’s Mate First Class Philip A—hole!

Dark Helmet: How many a—holes do we have on this ship, anyway?

[Entire bridge crew stands up and raises a hand]
Entire Bridge Crew: Yo!

Dark Helmet: I knew it. I’m surrounded by a—holes!

[Dark Helmet pulls his face shield down]
Dark Helmet: Keep firing, a—holes!

Funny you bring up "Commando."

Ah-nuld: You're a funny guy Zolly. I kill you last.

And of course from PREDATOR:

If it bleeds we can kill it!

And many from T III:

Claire Danes: Drop dead a**hole!
Ah-nuld: I cannot comply.

Can't overlook Tombstone:

"Evidently Mr. Ringo's an educated man. Now I really hate him."

"What is that, Holliday? Twelve hands in a row? Ain't nobody that lucky."
"Why Ike, whatever do you mean? Maybe poker's just not your game. I know! Let's have a spelling contest!"

Wyatt Earp: I did my duty, now I'd like to get on with my life. I'm going to Tombstone.
Crawley Dake: Ah, I see. To strike it rich. Well, all right, that's fine. Tell you one thing, though... I never saw a rich man who didn't wind up with a guilty conscience.
Wyatt Earp: Already got a guilty conscience. Might as well have the money, too. Good day, now.

Wyatt Earp: What makes a man like Ringo, Doc? What makes him do the things he does?
Doc Holliday: A man like Ringo has got a great big hole, right in the middle of himself. And he can never kill enough, or steal enough, or inflict enough pain to ever fill it.
Wyatt Earp: What does he want?
Doc Holliday: Revenge.
Wyatt Earp: For what?
Doc Holliday: Bein' born.

...and many more

I love that movie...I think it appeals to many people but it especially appeals to me, because it takes place in the midwest, and I was raised in the midwest tho not in the same places...but the time frame is what is striking for me...it takes place probably about 7-8 years before my own time, but everything in the scenes, reminds me so much of my own childhood...so I just almost can see myself in some of those scenes...because they are so true to life to the times that they are portraying...

I don’t remember that one marron.

Repeated twice in the movie. Early in the film, Connery warns Costner not to go after the mafia unless he is prepared to go all the way.

They pull a knife, you pull a gun. They send one of yours to the hospital, you send one of theirs to the morgue. That's the Chicago way.

Then again, at the end of the film when he's dying, Connery repeats the line to Costner, who then proceeds to do whats necessary, including bending the rules a bit, to bring down the baddies.

Almost anything from Galaxy Quest works. Use lines from this film on a daily basis. Most specifically: “Whoever wrote this episode should die.” And “We’ll do that” when I really don’t know what I am doing.

Ten Bears: These things you say we will have, we already have.
Josey Wales: That's true. I ain't promising you nothing extra. I'm just giving you life and you're giving me life. And I'm saying that men can live together without butchering one another.
Ten Bears: It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... and death. It shall be life.
