...does anybody think if we leave Iraq that Higgins boats with crescents and stars stenciled on the side are going to land on Myrtle Beach?

Speaking of disingenuous. How bout the fact that after we took out Saddam, terrorists from around the globe came to defeat us? In this case, in a war against terrorists, when this happened, could that reality not alter the mission? I believe it can and did.

Reid needs to realize that Pelosi needs a puddle jumper and not a plane that will get her to the other side of the pond.

I attended a town meeting held by Tom Davis (R-VA). He said that there will have to be some sort of compromise reached between Congress and the WH if the President wants to get the money for the troops. I fear he is correct. Before this is all over, the WH will make some concessions. The President is not going to get a clean bill. There will be Congressional controls/benchmarks in the bill.

If you have some sources I could review I'd be glad to take a look and get back to you, but if I were a raving suicidal terrorist and had a plane ticket to New York, I wouldn't cancel my flight to go and fight the US in Iraq. I don't buy we are fighting them there so we are not fighting them here. I also think allowing 20,000 Saudi students into this country, just like the 911 hijackers; will one day shatter that assertion that we are fighting them there so we don't have to fight them here. Yes, there's no denying there are foreign fighters in Iraq, but how many? For the most part its a civil war. And if the Iraqis allow these monsters to hide among them, is Iraq worth it? What are we going to do kill everyone in Iraq?

I, as well as many, agree with you.

However, the milk is spilled and we need to learn and make darn sure that we don’t make the same mistakes, or our country can kiss it’s collective rear-ends goodbye.

“I doubt our young men and women would want to serve under such nonsupporting leaders.”

If that nightmare were to happen, and it might very well, I will for the first time in my life be about as anti-war as a person can get. I would do my best to convince anyone to stay the heck out of the military.

For me, not a single drop of American blood should fall in the name of, or under the leadership of...... these despicable Traitors.

You make a good argument. I was skeptical for a time. Then I thought, these people (Iraqis) are all neighbors just freed from the horrors of the Saddam regime. Why are they now killing each other? Did Saddam hold the only tie that bound them together? How could that be?

In what other nation today do we find muslims killing their muslim neighbors on a grand scale like we are witnessing in Iraq? The only logical conclusion is foriegn terrorist intervention to defeat any success for the US in Iraq.

Many arguments disapproving the Iraqi war have been waged on the premise there were no terrorists in Iraq.

Okay, but they are there now.

So now what?

Could it be the Shia and Sunni don'tlike each other and the Sunni's who were in power don't like not being in power? Could it be the majority Shia, kept down by Saddam are looking for payback? I'm not saying you are wrong or that I'm an Iraqi expert but those are my first thoughts. Most other Muslim countries are either Shia or Sunni.

I need to get to bed but will keep that thought that outsiders are fueling the Iraq violence and look for those articles in my readings. Thanks for the post!

Harry: "Before we invaded, there was not a single terrorist in Iraq."

What an idiot !!

That line reminds me of a line that just about ALL the tour train operators in St. Augustine Florida use to get a laugh.

The line goes:

"Contrary to popular belief, there is not a SINGLE mosquito in St. Augustine......They're all married and have HUGE families!!!"

....IMHO, that's the come back line to dumb*ss Harry comment!!

“Before we invaded, there was not a single terrorist in Iraq. I recognize Saddam Hussein was an evil man and I’m glad he’s gone. But invading Iraq did not help the situation. It made it worse.”

What a damn liar. What a liar.

There should be a constitution comprehension exam that must be passed before a person can assume an elected position in congress. It would be a very empty place...

I voted for Bush, will vote for Ron Paul and will settle for Mitt Romney in the end.

More's the pity for America. I heard Mitt Romney on Sean Hannity yesterday. I was willing to consider him until I heard him say the he does not support the Fair Tax, but wants to see the current tax system improved slightly. Lost me right there. If you really believe that you are a Libertarian, you better turn tail and run as far and as fast from this guy as you can.

On to your whine about Bush. I will agree that I am disappointed in Bush and that he has failed to be the president I had hoped, but lie!!?? I think not. Since you're so knowledgeable, you do know that we found WMD in Iraq, don't you? You are aware that they found artillery shells filled with sarin gas, right?? You read the article published about 2-1/2 or 3 years ago that we found about 2 tons of weapons grade uranium, right?? You saw the articles about us finding Saddam's air force fighter jets buried in the desert, right??

If you got snookered, it wasn't by Bush, it was because you follow the MSM too closely. All of this information was available here and on Neal Boortz's site. Bush pulled no sleight-of-hand to get us into the war, he told us what was there and then proved it.

Bear in mind that Bush justified going to war using the very same intelligence info that Clinton and the Dems had prior to 2000. It was also the same intelligence that England, Germany, France, Australia, Japan and many other nations had about Iraq.

Be disappointed in George Bush all you like, many of us are. I have voted for more Bush's than you can count and I am also disappointed in W, but let's give credit where credit is due. We have a super-heated economy due solely to the tax cuts he pushed through. Don't get accustomed to them because the Dems are set to push through a tax increase of $400 billion that wipes out Bush's tax cuts and adds more on top of it. You want to be disappointed, be disappointed that we have a communist like Hillary who may be our next dicta . . . . er, president, who has promised to "take things away from" us. The leftists in this country won't be satisfied until they have taxed and robbed America back to the 7th Century and we are all praying to Allah.

Be as disappointed with Bush as you like. Be as disappointed with Republicans in general if you will. But, by God, look at the big picture!! It isn't about you or your disappointment. If '06 wasn't bad enough, '08 will be our greatest nightmare if we can't find a better candidate than Romney, Giuliani, or McCain. Stop whining about how disappointed you are in Bush and start thinking about America!! Our homes and our very lives are at stake. The more conservatives there are like you, the more the leftists love you, because it's one more conservative who will vote to split the Republican ticket and hand the WH and the Congress to the left next year.

“”People say if we leave Iraq it’s going to be chaos,” he said. “It’s chaos right now. So whenever we leave, whether it is six days from now or six months from now - we know we’ll be out of there in 20 months because that is when Bush is out of office - it is going to be chaos.””

So if the RATS win the Whitehouse they will cut and run. So we might as well do it now. This should be broadcast across the nation.

I would vote for Mitt if he were the Republican nominee, which is I think going to happen. Ron Paul would be my first choice, and Tom Tancredo would be my second. I voted for w, he's better than Kerry would have been but he's about a mile short of Ronald Reagan. I am extremely disappointed in W as I've already described.

Nice post.

I trust you have rested well since our last discourse. So now I ask,
part truth, part fiction, or outright propaganda?

As you read this, if you bother, consider this:
"It inspires these people," he said. "Some of them think it is their duty to go and perform jihad in Iraq. They think they are supporting the Muslims in Iraq and actually protecting the Islamic civilisation and culture in Iraq."
