Girly cars vs. Manly cars (Laura Ingraham)

I was listening to the Laura Ingraham radio show today and they were talking about how some cars are girly cars and some are manly cars. Laura was particularly mentioning that the Mazda Miata was a girly car. This was news to me. Her assisitant chimed in with saying the Mazda 3 was a girly car. This was also news to me. I'm in the market for a new car and was thinking of buying the MAzda 3 or a Miata. I've been told that the 3 has fewer service issues than other Mazda cars.

Of course one would gather that the manly cars would be trucks.

One girly car I've noticed is the VW Beetle. I've never seen a man driving one of those.

What do Freepers think? What cars are girly cars and what cars are manly cars.

Yes I''m referring to the new one. Our family droe a VW Bus from Georgia to Arizona up to Yellowstone and back down to Georgia for a our summer vacation when I was a kid.

But on the Laura Ingraham show today they she was saying the Mustang is a man car. However, one caller called in to say that when the Mustang first came out it was marketed as a female car.

Buy an old, dirty pickup, dark color. Then buy a sledgehammer. Beat the hell out of one corner of it. scratch it up. add a few dents here and there. perhaps spill some blood along the fender. Throw some old nailed boards, dirt, empty cans, a tire, a dead mouse, and pull chains in the back. Make it look m e a n.

At least, that's my plan. I have a sunfire convertible that just won't effing die.

Miata’s are chick cars all the way. So are beetles (new ones) and anything made by Saturn.

IMO, if there’s any doubt whether its a chick car, then it is.

Well a real girly car is the PT Cruiser. It was all they had to rent the last time I rented and I felt like one flaming . . . driving that thing.

A few years ago my Protege was in the shop for a few days and they gave me a Neon to drive. It was a nice car. I think I heard that Dodge discontinued that car though.

I drive a VW New Beetle and I'm not a girl. They call it a "chick car" but I don't feel in the least less of man because I drive it. Its a fun little car.
