[BREAKING] N.J. Gov. Corzine Hurt In Car Accident
WBZTV.COM ^ | 12 APRIL 2007 | AP

(CBS) GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. New Jersey Gov. Jon S. Corzine was injured Thursday night in a car accident on the Garden State Parkway, but a spokesman says the injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Corzine was elected governor of New Jersey in November 2006, soundly beating Republican businessman Doug Forrester in a race that set records for campaign spending but alienated voters with its mean-spirited politicking. With 97 percent of precincts reporting, Corzine had 53 percent to Forrester's 44 percent.

You could do a lot worse than the trauma unit at Cooper. If I got shot, I’d want Cooper. Or stabbed. They have experience with that sort of thing there. Bad car accidents too.

My wife, who is a nurse, works for the Kennedy Hospital system. She doesn’t work in any of the hospitals, and, of course, she is particular when it comes to health care providers for her big and extended family. As a rule, we don’t much use Kennedy hospitals.

I know that Cooper did a good job on my grandfather when he was run over by a drunk driver as he stepped off the curb in front of his house. The guy hit my grandmother first and sent her sailing, broke her back and ran right over my grandfather’s legs. They rebuilt them with metal bars. That was in 1949 or 50. My grandfather’s injuries were so bad that they took my grandmother to another hospital so that the trauma team could concentrate on him.

He was the VP of the Radio and TV workers at RCA and my grandmother was the president of the WCTU. Some people have wondered if it was really an accident.

So if his ribs punctured his lungs, the Drs aren’t permitted to say anything publicly as per his instructions?

I suppose like typical leftist elitists, they assume that everyone is stupid.

If you put together 12 broken ribs, a broken sternum, collarbone and vertebrae, it doesn't take much medical knowledge to understand that there had to be internal injuries and that he's in very bad shape.

What's the point of hiding it? Do they really think anyone believes that Corzine will be back on the job in a few weeks??

Even if were just his leg, he wouldn't be 'back to work' in a few days or weeks.

They really do think we're all stupid, don't they?

I have seen state trooper drive by me doing 90 to 100 MPH.

I've seen NJ cops (troopers?) doing that on a two lane road on the wrong side of the road (45 mph limit and a no passing zone). No sirens or lights, of course. If they caught me doing that, they would tear up my license on the spot.

it’s more telling than that. These whiz bang tv anchors are so butt glued that until the text and unified message is sent to all they gotta actually THINK ON THEIR OWN.

The unified message was slow as the “it’s Corzine” was on the screens

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but the truck authorities were looking for has been found. The driver is not being charged, he is a ‘mentally impaired’ year old, did know he caused the crash and ‘thought he actually avoided an accident’.

Can you imagine the public spectacle of this in the Nifong school of justice?

Special needs guy vs. the big, bad super speeding power machine of the no seat belt wearing corzine brigade....

THis has nothing to do with Corzine, though I am from NJ and of course didn’t vote for him: it has to do with your tagline. I have been telling me wife, and whoever else, for about 2 months now that the plus-size Jordin will be the American Idol. Not because she is necessarily a better singer than Melinda, but because she is a full 10 years younger, and that will count for a lot. If I was an record producer or exec I know I would be pulling for her. I have been looking to see if there are Vegas odds on this, but I don’t think they’ve started yet. I would get a bet in if the odds are right, like 10-1 or higher.

"probably moving between 70 and 90 MPH"

.... or maybe moving 95+ ?? It seems like a lot of pols expect to move at close to 100 mph on our freeways - would Corzine be any different?

According to the Bergen Record and others, Corzine's SUV had its police lights flashing. The inexperienced driver of the red truck said that's why he slowed down and swerved onto the shoulder - to let the emergency vehicle pass. Some reports said that the white truck went from the left to right lane after the red truck moved over to the shoulder in order to let Corzine's SUV pass. The red truck swerved back onto the parkway when the right wheels went off onto the soft shoulder, according to some reports, so as not to hit a milepost. The driver of the red truck oversteered to get the wheels back onto the pavement, the driver of the white truck reacted, and the rest is history. He thought he had avoided an accident, and didn't think he caused the white truck to crash into Corzine's car.

Also, from the Bergen Record:

A neighbor, Linda Tizol, said Potts seemed frazzled when she saw him leaving the house Saturday morning.

“He just screamed at his Dad: ‘What do they want to lock me up for? It’s not my fault he wasn’t wearing his seat belt,’” Tizol said.
