He was thrown on impact from the passenger area to the cargo area. It appears that most of his serious injuries would not have occurred if he had his seat belt fastened.
Because the good gov is too ARROGANT to on time for his meeting s. Sorta like clinton.
He outta be impeached for abuse of power. The irony is that other people were not injured, due to his lateness and excessive use of speed.
I guess the need for him to be at that meeting made it all ‘worth it’
When it comes right down to it, IMO the driver of the man’s van is responsible. Even if he was getting passenger pressure he had a choice. Non emergency high speeds and lights may have caused this accident. It looks like people may have just been trying to get out of their way.

No. He wasn’t driving. He should have had his seatbelt on but and I’m sure he now knows that. Even if he was driving under orders , the troop is still responsible ....sadly.....IMO.
Your pension or break the law. I think it is abuse of power, since it know he would not wear his seatbelt.
Ripping down the left lane with lights flashing, get outta my way now, between the governor and his driver, it’s their fault. The apologies should go from them to the other motorists, who were travelling normally. Plus charges should be brought against the governor, his driver, and anyone else who tried to cover up the truth.

The NJ Gov could be a test case for that.....

This happens to me quite often on the NJ Turnpike where an unmarked state police vehicle comes up behind you at a very high rate of speed and either turns their red lights on or hits you with the spotlight (which can be really confusing) to get you out of their way. Often you dont see them coming because either they are going extremely fast and seemingly come out of nowhere or the car behind you just swerved out of their way and now they are behind you. Typically they are not in persuit of anyone, just trying to get somewhere fast. Anything goes on NJ highways, its like Death Race 2000.
Corzine traveling at 91 miles an hour with “lights and sirens”. Lucky he didn’t get anyone killed, but I guess he sure paid the price for actions. He will be in my prayers.

Looks to me as if now they plan to blame it on Rasinksi, the trooper who was driving. Here’s an extract from the article you just linked:
The driver has discretion over the traveling speed and when to activate emergency lights, Fuentes said. He said the investigation showed that the governor did not ask Rasinski to speed up.
In non-emergencies, the governor’s drivers should obey the traffic laws “in the interest of safety both to the occupants of their car and the public,” Fuentes said.
Rasinski, who has been part of the state police executive protection unit for a year and is in his eighth year as a trooper, had two prior accidents on the job. One accident, in which he slid on an icy road and hit a guard rail, was deemed preventable, according to New Jersey State Police Capt. Al Della Fave.
