swing over to LA, the gang bangers will give you a fine lesson on irresponsible juveniles with guns.....

1) gang bangers are criminals,
2) 21 year olds are not juveniles.

With that being said, I have had my fill of law enforcement duty and am well aware of those that shouldn't have a gun.

I will concede to you that banning a 3 year member is harsh and I HEARTILY agree that we should have compulsary military service (or for the pacifists, a peace corps) before being able to attend college or vote. I apologize to you for the misunderstanding.

The administration DID call all the RA’s after the first shooting, so that they could inform the students in their buildings. Remember, though, that first shooting was being investigated as a ‘domestic’ dispute, and they had no indication that anything like the massacre that ensued was in the offing.

By all accounts this guy was suicidal over his girlfriend.

I agree, but there are some speculating this guy could be a muslim terrorist, ergo my reply.

didn’t have a loved one or even know anyone there and I AM furious at these dolts. A gunman on the loose and they don’t tell everyone? It’s outrageous.

If there is a murderer on the loose in a small city anywhere in America, should we "lock the town down"?

How exactly do you do that?

BUT yet they said they knew the gunman was on the loose. UMMMM hello :)

Dear Lord, prayers for those massacred that they rest in peace, comfort to their famlies and that Americans return to You.

So, if it was a girlfriend problem, do they know the ID of the gf? Was she one of the victims? If so, someone would know who her bf is, right? Why not release his name?

Apparently ONE person did have a gun.

That's a 'given' - a 'fact of life' - even where guns are supposedly 'outlawed.' The only real question for society is, 'Who do you WANT to have a gun?' The law-abiding neighbor, or teacher, or student, who can help you when you need help? Or only (by definition, where guns are banned) the criminals?

"WELL FOR THE RECORD, THIS IS NOT THE WORST MASS MURDER THAT HAS OCCURED!"

Good find, but the anti-gunners will spin this as the "Worst Shooting.

If you were a witness in this situation, would you rather talk first to the police or the press?

Quite simply, why would you not just say what you know? Regardless, of who was asking?

I don't think its their "job" to get the truth "out". I think it's their job to ascertain valid evidence, rule out multiple shooters, and track the guilty down.

And until they have that, to be as prepared as any of us can be in dealing with potential copycat behavior.

The same battelines existing in civilian society, socialists versus free market, are the same lines which exist throughout American bureacracies.

Liberals have invested 40+ years ensuring their own brand of "folk Marxists" make it to the top of most public institutions and bureacracies. And, there's lots of good people in these bureacracies.

So much depends upon who is in charge of these bureacracies.

The shooter had training - various levels of same. He found a soft target. The bomb threat was the test. The first shooting, the decoy.

They didn't apprehend him although they reported his arrest so he kept going until his mission was accomplished.

IMO, FV

May you stand before God and man as my two precious grandchildren's killer if you pass any more gun legislation that will make me a felon should I own a handgun or any other gun for that matter.

Sincerely,

I’m not sure a campus lock down or shut down is possible on a campus that size with such a large number of students, faculty, staff.

I’ve been trying to follow the story on and off since this morning but missed a lot of the information that was released. I’ve been reading many of the posts on here and I’m impressed by all the well written, thoughtful posts.

The question to be raised it how many of those students arrived for class after the first shooting, and were shot. You can certainly turn away traffic at the entrances, and use email / phone tree technology to inform people in short order that something is amiss.

In addition, why not just an old fashioned "air raid" siren type PA system, where vocal warnings could be broadcast in addition to siren type warnings.

Sad we've come to this, but it could have saved lives here.
