A noteworthy subtlety indeed. The dude was intense and likely a very obsessive learner. Perfect material for some campus imam or even a Pali radical organizer.

As with most web searches, the results are not usually too interesting but sometimes a gem can be found. Below is one of the sites found in the google search which I personally enjoyed enough to bookmark for future reference.

"Besides the sick content of his story, he can’t spell, he has poor grammar, and has disjointed logic. Not what I would call English major material."

Looks more like the untalented work of an 8th grader than a Junior English major.

a writing sample by shooter

OK, well that's just twisted. Some FBI profiler would come up with "fruit loop" in no time at all.

Those numbers are dwarfed by murders commited when no antidepressant or other psychiatric med was involved.

The people who take psychiatric meds do so because of some form of mental illness. Those with mental illness are statistically more prone to violence than the general population. One would expect that some who then act out violently would have a history of using these meds. Not a surprise.

Sorry if I misread. When one stops prozac or other antidepressants there can be significant flu-like symptoms in some cases. The problem is that if he stopped, the withdrawl from the med may not have cause this but quite possibly the return of symptoms of whatever condition he was taking it for. It should be noted though that these meds are not extremely effective and many studies indicate that response rates are 50% at best.

Lots to unravel in that play. I wonder if he was raised a Roman Catholic? Things in there remind me of the POV of angry fallen Catholics, especially ones who have left the Christian tent completely. The whole Mickey D imagery could be a general attempt to indict American culture, ala “Supersize Me.” So much to ponder in that play.

You asked — “Where is this “physics formula”? I would like to see it for myself.”

Yes, it’s there, in one of these FReeper threads. But, that’s a good question. I *posted* on the thread where it was given by another poster — but — I’ve posted on a lot of these threads so far.

The best I would suggest is to google that exact phrase, using the function on google to narrow down to just this web site and check those threads. You’ll find it there.

I may do that myself and locate it, too...

Regards,
Star Traveler

His English professor was reportedly Troubled by his writings but did little to ensure the public's safety from this disturbed mass murderer.

It was a citation from a math journal with an author by the name Ismail. No connection to this.

I don’t know what, if anything, he had “engraved” on his arm. Do you have a reliable source?

I seem to remember a discussion of mathematics re: the use of the abbreviation AX to denote “axiom”, but I never saw a full, verbatim usage of the term “Ismail Ax” anywhere.

He had (allegedly) the words “Ismail X”. WRITTEN on his arm, not tattooed or engraved.

The physics thing was a mistake. Someone googled Ismail and got a citation for an article in a math journal by someone named Ismail.

Well, that’s a hard note.

What do you imagine an english teacher would think of the writings of a pubescent Steven King?

Nah, the cure to this disease is the precise application of ultraviolence in the form of a quantity of lead, propelled to a velocity sufficient to significantly overcome the resistance presented by sudden impact with a lump of organic matter.

Works every time its tried.

It’s an email address, all mass murderers write their email address on their arms. It’s the new rage.

The words “Ismail Ax” were found inscribed on his arm in red ink, apparently a reference to his Xbox 360 gamertag. Friends said Cho would stay in his room and play Battlefield 2 for hours.

There was, and Ismail is a type of computer code or something—I’m not sure about exactly what.

But I saw the post with the math formula and Ismail was the author. Just something caught while trolling in Google.

That’s what my college age son said—that it sounded like a gamer tage. And it fits with the loner weirdo description.
