I thought the reason that the authorities weren’t releasing his name immediately was due to the fact that there was an Islamic connection. There still may be. He could be one of their many recruits.

Another Virginia Tech student was convicted on one charge of planting a bomb back in 2006. He was found guilty of the misdemeanor in December but appealed the conviction, and the white powder involved turned out not to be a drug, so the possession charge was dropped.

His sentencing on the remaining charges was supposed to take place this month.

And, oh, BTW: one of the three students the three roommates living in the apartment where the phony bomb was planted was an electrical engineering major named Muhammad Mansoor, who stated that he was subletting and did not know the suspect personally.

Maybe a coincidence. And maybe an indication of the climate at the *nice, peaceful* campus and an example of the local ability to sweep their dirt under the rug.

More on Janaka Nuwan Kumara Siriwardena *here.*

I didn’t make the conspiracy nut comment.

I dug out the posting thread last night but got distracted by my kids. Didn’t seem like a big necessity.

I honestly don’t care what you think Isamil means.

This is the largest mass shooting in American history. Every detail of the case is going to be scrutinized and every group in America is trying to use this case to further its agenda.

I believe the warrent was served by the Montco police, not the FBI and the last thing these guys want is to break procedure in any way and be painted as country yokels by a ready media. It is evidence, and crucial evidence.

I’m not dismissing an Islamic angle, but it seems unlikely. Even if there is one, this guy is not a recruit; he was using jihadi ideas as fodder for his disturbed ramblings.

If this really had any organization behind it at all, why not have even one or two other shooters at other campuses begin shooting at nearly the same time? Islamofacist terrorists love that. And why shoot two first, then go back and get ready for the big show? If he were a jihadi the whole thing would have happened at once and it would not matter as much who he killed, only how many.

They believe that Ismail was going to be left to die in the desert by his mother and God showed her a well to give him water and food. He is the father of the Muslim world.

Of course you don't, sweetie (Assuming you meant "Ismail" - no one cares what anyone thinks of "Isamil"). That's why you initiated the dialog back at post 474.

At THIS POINT I don’t care, hon.

When I’m telling my kids to wait last night while I’m searching through hundreds of posts to send to someone I don’t know from Adam—no I don’t really care.

I have studied these medicines far, far more than 99.5% on this board and not from sites put up by lawyers hungry for corporate cash, conspiracy theorists or those with an ax to grind. Those sites are of little merit.

Anyone with common sense would realize that people with mental illness(depression included) are at a higher risk for acting out violently than those who do not have mental illness.

One would also realize that some of those with mental illness get noticed as such. They get referred for treatment and, lo and behold, when a mental illness is confirmed they get put on meds. Despite being on meds the symptoms of mental illness can continue because some people only partially respond.

Guess what? There were antidepressant that inhibited the reuptake of serotonin long before prozac’s debut in 1988. Your sites don’t mention these, why not? Where were the killings back then? Maybe there are no sites about these because they’re off-patent and lawyers don’t stand to make as much money.

Millions have taken these meds with absolutely no problems but you’re going to point to a few hundred which amounts to 0.0001% or so.

Again what about the thousands upon thousands of murders that occur when no med like Prozac is involved? Maybe it has to do with today’s culture more than today’s meds.

I favor personal responsibility not the “devil made me do it.”
