Now why would a prestigious news organization like ABC News disregard the fact that this mass-murderer signed his final note using the name of Abraham’s bastard son: the man all Arabs are descendants of; the man who Mohammad created a false religion to elevate the status of?

I wonder.

It’s odd how this “note” runs several pages, the sources have obviously read the whole thing, and yet very little characterizing what the note said in those several pages is being reported.

Is it that what is written in the note doesn’t fit the narratives and templates the MSM would prefer to deal with?

This reminds of the delay in the reporting on the “note” that was left by the guy who crashed his plane into the building in Tampa a couple of years ago. As I recall the MSM and the authorities tried to downplay any suggestion of terrorist motivation and played up the angle of his dysfunctional family background, but eventually the text of the note was reported and it turned out there was more to it than that (IIRC).

Just for interest, assuming the .22 pistol is set up the same as the G19, that makes six serials he would need to file off (receiver, slide, and barrel).

I see the .22 as his back up as he reloads the 9.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the .22 has 2 rounds out of it.

Sources tell ABC News Cho bought his first gun, a Glock 9 millimeter handgun, on March 13; they say he bought his second weapon, a .22 caliber pistol, within the last week.

So much for the efficacy of Virginia's one-gun per month law...

My understanding is that Cho was NOT a legal permanent resident. He was here on a student visa. Federal law specifically prevents anyone on non-immigrant visa status from purchasing handguns.

I would say that he was familiar with the Koranic version of the life of Ibrahim. In it Ibrahim uses an axe to destroy the false idols that the people are worshipping.

Apparently the killer felt that the VT students were degenerate. In killing them he was, perhaps, merely acting to ‘cleanse’ the world of falsity in the same way Ibrahim had. Only he did not see himself as the active agent, but only as the tool. The axe, not the wielder of the axe.

I got this off a web site with Islamic stories on it Ibrahim confronts his people and rejects their idols

He left his father after he lost hope to convert him to the right path, and directed his efforts towards the people of the town, but they rejected his call and threatened him. By Allah, he said, I shall plot a plan to destroy their idols. He knew that a big celebration was coming soon, where everybody would leave town for a big feast on the riverbank.

After making sure that nobody was left in town, Ibrahim went towards the temple armed with an ax. Statues of all shapes and sizes were sitting there adorned with decorations. Plates of food were offered to them, but the food was untouched. “Well, why don’t you eat? The food is getting cold.” He said to the statues, joking; then with his ax he destroyed all the statues except one, the biggest of them. He hung the ax around its neck and left.

How big was the shock when the people entered the temple! They gathered inside watching in awe their gods broken in pieces. They wondered who might have done this? Then they all remembered that the young Ibrahim was talking evil of their idols.

They brought him to the temple and asked him: “Are you the one who has done this to our gods?” Ibrahim said: “No, this statue, the biggest of them has done it. Ask them if they can speak.” “You know well that these idols don’t speak!” They said impatiently. “Then how come you worship things that can neither speak nor see, nor even fend for themselves? Have you lost your minds?”

They kept silent for a while, for he got a point there. Their minds and their senses were telling them that the Truth is with Ibrahim, but their pride prevented them to accept it, and reject the idols they were worshipping for generations. This they thought would be total defeat. They started yelling at him and shouting: “Burn him! Burn him! Take revenge for your gods !”

It goes on, God saves Ibrahim from a fire that priests make to burn him for destroying the idols, etc. Amazing. A strong ROP connection after all

Rambling notes are very common with people who have psychological problems. This does not sound terrorist related. It sounds more like a very sick young man with many problems. A loner - not many friends - anger festering - didn’t speak much. All it takes is one rejection from a girl to set him off.

found inside a Virginia Tech dormitory

Second time they've used this phrase. Do they mean inside the dormitory or do they mean inside his room. The former would be far more benign than the latter.

NO he was here since 1992 - he was NOT on a Student visa. He was a permanent resident. That rumor was false.

What’s your reference for the physics connection? Pretty unlikely reference considering he’s an English major!
