If you read her OP, you’d see she wasn’t advocating anything as far as restrictions. Just stating how the PEOPLE carrying might find it impractical and not even bother carrying.
My points remain valid and you have done nothing to refute them.
I have read your posts. They consist of ‘teens shouldn’t have guns in school’.
Ok. But we’re talking about legal adults over 21.
Did you read Hair’s 1st post? Or is there a comprehension problem? She went off on a tangent about the impracticalities of being a student carrying. That’s it.
I'm not talking about restricting anyone's rights, and never have, on this thread. I'm talking about how citizens who choose to carry legally and in public should act.
I’m sure half the students have bongs and pipes and god knows what else on them. I’m sure the legal responsible ones can conceal carry without causing problems in class.
I told you, SOMEone will start a frivolous lawsuit and it won’t matter to some lame-o jury what the law is or is not.
Was it illegal for McDonald’s to make coffee more than 110 deg?
That's exactly what it is. I'm surprised at how many people on this board are so quick to find exceptions based on students "immaturity". Logic would dictate that college students have a much lower violent crime arrest rate than the general population, and I would bet the statistics back this up. So why the irrational ranting and ravings about blood in the streets? Pathetic.
Changing your tune already?
Now you are being "rude". Don't be an ass...
On the contrary, I'm so informed on the subject, I'm having trouble talking about it in basic enough terms that you can understand it and not take me out of context.
If the *worse* thing that happens is someone else sees you having a gun, thats really not that bad. I think it outweighs the cost of being a sitting duck, dont you?
If it being seen makes headlines, it's bad for all of us.
I confronted those technical issues and solved them. It's really a small matter of being responsible enough to drive a car. It's very easy to conceal and not print. I'm not even sure what the disagreement is over anymore. Is it technical or political? The technical aspects of carry are virtually non-existant.
“If it’s a public university it is owned and operated by the state. Are you saying that the state has the authority to over ride the Constitution of the United States and ignore the 2nd Amendment?”
How do you explain courtrooms and state houses and the like? You can’t get more GOVERNMENT than that, the 1s who are supposed to protect 2A, right?
Read that. Read it carefully.
Care to give an example of anyone misusing a legally concealed gun and getting such lawsuits started? Any real world?
Certainly not in states where it is legal to carry. The property owners are NOT responsible. However, I would dare to say if you are banned from carrying, they should be responsible if anything happens to you that could’ve been avoided if you were not banned.
Should students be disarmed and defenseless against attackers?
Personally, I think it would be best if we all had little Derringers outside home. Size wouldn’t be much of a problem. :D
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
Dorms do pose a problem. But it shouldn’t be that much worse than any apartment scenario. There are small guns and small safes that you can be sure nobody will get into. gunvault.com makes them.
Again, the technical issues have been solved. It’s a policy matter really when it comes down to it. Politics.
