April 20, 2007 -- IN a disturbing voice-mail message recorded on April 11, Alec Baldwin called his 11-year-old daughter, Ireland, "a rude, thoughtless little pig" after she didn't answer her phone for a court-ordered conversation. Baldwin left a two-minute rant, shouting, "I made an a - - out of myself trying to make this call . . . You have insulted me for the last time. You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being." Insiders told Page Six the message was submitted as sealed evidence during Wednesday's custody hearing over Baldwin and his ex-wife Kim Basinger's rights to their daughter.....

mommie dearest lol!
Seriously though, everyone be praying for Alec— his brother Stephen is a christian now, and very serious about his faith. This could be a tipping point for their family.

I didn’t need this incident to know what kind of person Baldwin is, and likely no one else at FR. I read some inane piece of Kool*aid he had written for HuffPO and the minions over there were drinking it down. Many of the comments had to do with how wonderful and smart he was and how much they had missed him in his absence. I guess with the invective and vitriol churned out at HuffPO, Baldwin would be considered the calm sage of the group.
Yikes! My eyes, my eyes!
Wow. My opinion of Alec Baldwin went down a lot.
I didn’t think that was possible.
I used to think he was a leftist moron. Now I think he is a bad father too.
Baldwin was totally out of line. The message could have registered disappointment and sadness that the daughter had ‘let him down’.
It sounds like the daughter has done this before. If it is a ‘court ordered/appointed time’ call, the mother should be responsible enough to see that the daughter is there for the call.
I think the games people play in divorces are a shame. The mother ‘set him up’ in a way. I question her ‘character’ in this situation nearly as much as Baldwin’s.
He still has more chins than I have cars.
Jeez o’ Petes!
Up until I heard this, I’ve been able to overlook a lot of Baldwin’s kookiness; it was just typical Hollywood liberal stuff. I actually liked him as an actor, and found him to be very funny in his Saturday Night Live appearances, and during interviews and talk showswhen he wasn’t going off on a bizarre political rant, that is.
This is way beyond your average liberal moonbattery.
Shouldn’t an 11 year old be in school at 10:00 on a Wednesday morning and in bed by 10:30 on a school night? My daughter doesn’t have her phone on at those times either and she is well past that age.
My apologies
Hilarious typo. LOL.
.......or perhaps Alec wanted to impose his will on this child just as he would this country if it were in his power to do so. I agree totally that these petty divorce games are sick child abuse, but I see a Dad that loves his child taking a much different direction and saving the name-calling and scary dialogue for the mother.
It was a phone call and all he did was alienate himself from this child further. How about, “ I was looking forward to talking to you sweetheart, dad loves and misses you and I look forward to seeing you this weekend.”?
Hopefully the daughter is home schooled.
Daddy Dearest is in New York, Ireland is in California. 3 hour time difference.
Ah, I see.
“How about, I was looking forward to talking to you sweetheart, dad loves and misses you and I look forward to seeing you this weekend.?
Exactly!
The man has serious mental problems
Alec’s rant was strictly a Narcissistic fit.
He broke a cardinal rule. It doesn’t matter how much rancor the divorce brings or how much you hate the ex, you do NOT do that to the child.
No parent should speak like that to a child-divorce or no divorce.
Did the mother make the call?
