Codey 'upset' over focus on Corzine's speed, seatbelt

Acting Gov. Richard Codey said he's "a little surprised and a little upset" that so much of the public reaction to Gov. Jon Corzine's auto crash injuries has revolved around how fast his SUV was traveling and the fact that he wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
"I am a little confused and baffled by all the talk about no seatbelt and how fast, when someone is in such grave condition that we would focus on that, both by the public and the media," Codey said during a press conference in Newark about campus security.

The guy is a liberal and does not understand what the rule of law means.
More people know the public service phrase “seatbelts save lives” than probably know who is Vice President. They also know the stats on what happens if you don’t buckle up...and this acting Gov. wonders why people are focused on it?
He must have gone to a NJ public school.
Not all public roads are the Jersey turnpike. On rural limited access highways in good conditions (and with a radar detector) keeping it under 90 is just wasting your time. That worthy of a lashing too?
If Corzine or the trooper were you and me, the police would be handing us a reckless driving ticket in the intensive care room.
It's sort of like the laws pertaining to corruption, bribery and malfeasance. They only apply to the commoners.
He’s confused and baffled, because the public notices that his governor lives above the law - driving down the highway at a dangerous speed and endangering the lives of others? Neither he nor his governor deserve the political positions they have. Both should resign immediately.

I believe in our state if you use red lights and sirens you MUST be in an emergency situation OR you are breaking the law.
Corzine's people said he would be out of the hospital and back on the job by Monday. How should we focus on his grave condition when we are constantly being told that 'tis but a flesh wound?

If they weren't flying down the road like they owned it, lights flashing, scaring people out of the way, they never would have had this problem.
Seems the NJ State PD clowns were flying through VA after Katrina at around 100MPH, and _itched when the VA sheriff gave 'em all tickets.

(D) Corzine was speeding toward his gleeful destination, which was to watch Don Imus shuck and grovel toward the Rutgers female whatever team. Caution was thrown to the winds (”I’m gonna watch a white guy beg for mercy!! Yeearghhh!!!”)
How dare they discuss Corzine as they would a regular person!!
