Dd he post on this thread?
Wow— so sorry :-( Every 3 years... dang.
They never caught my assailant. Just had to keep plugging away at life. Not easy.
You don't know what the hell you're talking about, junior. Those folks have been around longer than you have. They have a right to speak their minds. In case you forgot, we do live in a country that allows that(unless Her Heinousness is elected next year).
Jim, this is your site, and you can do whatever you want. But this is starting to look like some witchunt for sleeper trolls who are good FReepers, with other trolls throwing fuel on the fire and pointing the finger.
I don't like Rudy's positions anymore than you do. In fact, I've reconsidered my own stance and will vote for McCain! against him in the primary if it comes to it. But, if he should somehow win the nomination, I'll vote for him if it means keeping a RAT, especially "You Know Who" out of the White House.
I think all conservatives, libertarians, and other people in their right frame of mind would agree that should she gain the keys to the Oval Office, we're all finished. After she gets the RAT controlled Congress congress to push through a new "Fairness Doctrine", which will be one of the first things on her list, she'll go after Rush, Hannity, Ingraham, Levin, etc. trying to muzzle them. Guess what folks, WE WILL BE NEXT.
My point to everybody is to take a chill pill, be you a Rudy supporter, Romney backer, or Fredhead. Adhere to Ronald Reagan's 11th Commandment. We can have our spirited, but not mean-spirited, debates here, but once one candidate has been settled on, we all back him or her.
Nothing good will come of people sitting home next year, just like nothing good came out of the fiasco last year...
He would roll through every "Red" midwestern state and would probably win some blue ones (Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois?) as well.
I guarantee you that will happen. If Thompson loses the general, people here will blame Rudy for “dividing the party” (whatever that means) during the primary. You will never see anyone here take responsibility.
Its like the Katherine Harris race in FL. We threw that seat away, because the base got their way and got her nominated - even though they were told 10000 times she had no chance of winning the general. she got 38% of the vote - who was blamed? “the party and RNC apparatus didn’t back her strongly enough”.
“The Rudy supporters dont want to argue the facts, it all emotion. They claim that he is the only one who can beat Hillary, which in fact the only way he would have a shot is if he ran in the DNC primary. When asked for what he stands, the only thing they say is A strong war on terror!. Which is OK, but pretty meaningless.
I have been called a religious extremist, bigot, anti abortion fanatic, and whole host of other names just because I do not and will not support a man who holds none of the views I do. The last time I got hit with those ad homonyms, was on a more liberal site.
This whole thing is weird to me, and I honestly think that the GOPs days are numbered. They are trying to move so far to the left, the base voters wont follow. Of course, many here will now say We have to! We have lost Ohio, New Mexico, and most of the eastern states! We need to converge and drop the social conservatives by moving to the left!
I guess if that is the plan, then so be it. Here I stand, I can stand no where else. If the new GOP is in the shape of Rudy, then I guess I will not be in it.
You nailed it!
“I think hes (Rudy) a mistake for the Republican Party nomination. But I do understand why he is appealing to people”
Me too. If you support abortion, restricting guns, open borders, special rights for gays, no experience on foreign and military matters...he is very appealing to these types.
What you said.
That’s a great picture, thanks for posting it!
** and after he refused to support his daughters, the family was being supported by their church for a while.**
I knew about the divorces, but I did not know about this. Thanks.
That was a joke goober. LOL. LOL.
You're right that I don't believe you. It's comments like these that make it impossible:
The reason the Republican party is NOT the Conservative party, nor holds many conservative ideals, is that approximately 50% of registered Republicans are female. When it comes to women, no matter how pro-life they are in philosophy, when push comes to shove, they are all pro-choice.
It's no surprise some of the biggest Rudy supporters at FR (alive & banned) are women. The basic reality is that women are preventing the R party from moving anymore rightward.
This ones my favorite. I hear so often that Christians and other religious women never abort. After all, a woman who believes in God could never end her pregnancy. The numbers beg to differ:
Forty-three percent of women obtaining abortions identify themselves as Protestant, and 27% as Catholic.
Thats right; Christians account for a full 70% of all abortions obtained in the United States.
Your comments have nothing to do with whether or not SD results will be repeated elsewhere in the country.
Your comments were blanket statements about women that are certainly untrue. And gloating that 70% of the women obtaining abortions are *Christian* doesn't help your credibility.
No!! Rudy must not win the nomination!!
Excuse me but who exactly are you refering to as “wingnuts”?
Your unfailingly calm, courteous and dignified efforts to elucidate actual relevant information and keep the discussion focused on the issues is much appreciated.
Oh, and what have you done in the real world lately? This is all ya got, thats why I pity you.
I don’t think they want to come back. One of the freepers had said a couple days ago to me they heard their was a “plot”. I didn’t believe that, and I still don’t, now I believe that the “plot” was from THEIR side and it was to GET banned because they were being trounced in the arena of ideas and wanted to be able to claim they were kicked out because we couldn’t argue with them.
They have their own site they seem happy with, a nice echo chamber.
I think they wanted to be gone before Fred announces, because Fred won’t have 1% poll numbers like the conservatives we support that the Rudy people love to laugh at as “unelectable”.
