To many people, if it isn’t an old fashioned cowboy gun or a double barrel shotgun, it’s an “assaultgun”. People I’ve talked to have been shocked to learn that even cops are allowed to carry a GLOCK on their belt....ooo, scary bad, black assault gun with way to much power...and it’s a SEMI-AUTO!...how is that even legal???

Looking at your pictures, I can smell the oil, the gunsmoke and the green ammo bag!

...magazine clips...

Almost as inexcusable as gun enthusiasts who don't know the difference between a magazine and a clip. Furthermore, there isn't any device called a "magazine clip" at all.

"AND, it is not legal to ship firearms except from one FFL license holder to another FFL license holder.

Except that "A person may ship a rifle or shotgun to himself, in care of a person who lives in another state, for purposes of hunting."

Not necessarily the case.

For example: "US Mail: An unlicensed person can ship a rifle or shotgun by US Mail." (from the following shipping summary from gunbroker.com) http://www.gunbroker.com/Support/SupportFAQView.asp?FAQID=1118&NoCount=1

And non-licensed people can even ship pistols for repair (usually, back to the manufacturer).

Would you like pictures of my scar?

In generic civilian terms, “clip” is often used as synonymous for “magazine,”

Only if "generic civilian terms" means the same thing as "ignorant dolt". Manufactures' catalogs containing references for spare parts for even the civilian weapons name them correctly. I'd say people should consult their Users' Manuals before they assume they have mastered the rather low-tech terminology of the trinkets they purchase.

Thank you! It drives me crazy, I was about to say something about the difference between a clip and a magazine. Glad I read far enough to find your excellent description.

Sales of ammunition online is very illegal.

I suppose you should let the people at MidwayUSA, Cheaper Than Dirt, Cabela's, Natchez Shooter's Supply and many others know that little detail. They all sell ammo online. It's not illegal.

The news media is just brain dead when it comes to issues of firearms and ammo. The Fox news reporter said Cho "sprayed bullets all over". Idiot.

Not true. If you need to have a firearm that you own repaired, you can ship it directly to the manufacturer. The manufacturer can ship it directly back to your home address. You do need to sign for the package when it arrives. That's a good idea. Who wants UPS dropping a $400 to $1200 firearm off on the doorstep?

ABC assumes it’s simple minded viewers don’t know the difference between clips and ammo, ABc knows damned well what they are saying

It must depend on what state it is. Because I’ve known people that have had to take a hunting gun to a gunshop so they could pick it up in another state at a gunshop...hmmm, maybe it was another country, not another state. That might be, because I know people that go to canada and also to south america for hunting trips.

Dope on CNN made the same misrepresentation. Called them clips at first, then referred to the clips as ammunition.

Here’s one for you:

A 22magnum revolver with interchangeable cylinders...is the cylinder technically a magazine? What if you have moon clips and interchangeable cylinders? Is the moonclip really a clip? What if you have a black powder revolver with interchangeable cylinders?

A magazine clip: The device commonly used on a M16 to attach one magazine to another so that when your mag is empty, you pull it out, flip it over upside down, and re-insert....MAGAZINE CLIP.
