I would guess that many will purposely mistake them for that. Some might even leave dumps in them.

I remember a about ten years ago I saw some Muslims washing their feet in the reflecting pool by the Washington Monument. I thought to myself then This country is causing itself serious damage by letting these New Barbarians in here. I wonder how long I would live if I were in their country and performed an act of desecration in one of their many Holy sites?
