May preaches green gospel
The Green party leader comes to tears during a
London sermon on the climate change threat.

Preaching in London about the threat of climate change, Green party Leader Elizabeth May brought herself to tears yesterday, not for children who will inherit the Earth, but for the God she believes created it.
It wasn't the first time May has mixed politics and faith -- she says she speaks often at churches.
But her voice broke and her eyes filled with tears as she delivered a moving sermon at Wesley-Knox United Church in Wortley Village.
"We have a moral obligation to our Lord and Father to ensure we don't destroy the creation that was given to us," she said.
Her return visit to London, where she finished a surprising second in a byelection last November, came as her environmental party seeks its first seat in the House of Commons.
Green issues took centre stage during the byelection campaign and many expect the environment to be the No. 1 issue when Canadians go to the polls in a federal election expected this year.
Delivering what she called an environmental sermon, May took aim at those she says are pushing or enabling the destruction of the planet.
Borrowing a quote she said was made by a foreign dignitary about Prime Minister Stephen Harper, May said his stance on climate change "represents a grievance worse than Neville Chamberlain's appeasement of the Nazis."
Turning her focus to the south, May, who was born in the U.S., said too many Americans profess to be Christians but can't recite the Ten Commandments.
"(Some) believe Joan of Arc was Noah's sister," she said.
While many evangelical Christians care about the Earth, a fundamentalist sect would rather see the planet destroyed, she said.
"They are waiting for the end time in glee and they unfortunately include (U.S.) President (George W.) Bush."
It is common for the religious right to butt heads with scientists over issues from evolution to climate change.
But May has challenged fundamentalists on two fronts, with science in one hand and a Bible in the other.
Until recently, the Earth has been blanketed by a natural, protective layer of greenhouse gases that retained just enough heat from the sun to help life thrive, May said.
"This is a time for Christians to say we do believe in miracles, in the life-giving force," she said.
The delicate balance God created is under assault as people increased exponentially their use of fossil fuels, unleashing carbon dioxide and destroying the forests that can return carbon to the Earth, she said.
"We're playing with the forces that led to creation . . . we're nearing the edge of the life force and we're still playing around," May said.
She said it's as if the lessons of the Garden of Eden have been disregarded repeatedly and the results are already harming poorer nations.
"The first victims of the climate crisis are those who had the least to do with creating it."
Unless we meet our moral obligation to restore the balance, our children and grandchildren will suffer, she said.
"Through the power of our Lord and Jesus Christ, we can meet this moral obligation," she said.
May was escorted to the pulpit by the man who defeated her five months ago in in the London-North-Centre byelection -- Liberal MP Glen Pearson, who likened her to an Old Testament prophet.
"She is one such prophet."
1) Bombing any energy-producing facility not "certified" as green-friendly,
2) Terrorizing anyone not following their dictatorial mandates. And if you ignore them long enough, they'll kill you under the self-indulgent justification of "population control."

There was a time when most of this country looked like Vermont and Martha’s Vineyard and her citizens were friendly and decent. In 50 years her stewards have turned it to sh!t. Who can look at urban decay, suburban sprawl and stripmall blight and not weep?

Probably the same people who believe "Global Warming" is a more imminent danger than Islamic fascism.

That was the one that jumped out to me. I don’t know that much about the GP of Canada, but that’s not the way one “chistian” speaks about another.
Ah but the best part of this is that inside of the last 48 hours since, Glen Pearson the liberal MP who introduced her is trying to distance himself from her commments.
When a politician starts changing their stance on something you know they are doing damage control.
i.e.: “I was against it before I was for it”
The real damage is that Pearson is very close to his leader, he did Dion’s introduction during the liberal leadership convention.
Perhaps theres a pattern developing here.
Lets call it the Pearson affect.
Yeah, it stated in the article that May had been born and raised in the US, guess this wasn’t socialist enough for her. Is for Al Gore.
