And then he went on to avoid responding to the question of Christians, instead opening his arms to Democrats and Independents and how we need to "define the Republican party to fit today."

I'm only grateful he hasn't vowed (yet) to send the cattle cars to take the Christians to the camps.

After all, a man who would pay to kill his own grandchild is capable of anything. Anything.

Time for a humor break...In the "Hillary Watch" blog on NRO, I just read that.."if Barak Obama had been asked the question that Rudy got, about the difference between a Sunni and a Shia, Obama might have answered...'well..back when I was in school in the madrassas, the imams taught me that....' "

To me, Romney came across as shallow, a politician to the core, and I don’t buy anything he says.

Who cares? He looked great. Brylcream in the hair. Speaking like a professional who should be doing radio commercials.

I love Fred's ideas but in watching his interview with Sean, he looked like death warmed over. Bags under his eyes. I was waiting for a creature with hood and scythe to tap him on the shoulder.

If we can just figure out how to put Fred Thompson's brain in Mitt Romney's body, and add a little touch of Ron Paul's limited Government Constitutionalist/libertarian streak, along with the Hucksters' appeal to 15 Evangelical voters...WE HAVE A WINNER! A legend in fact.

I'm speechless. With laughter.

Dude, you're the Republican Frankenstein.

Thanks. Watching 10 candidates trying to pretend to be something they will never be...Ronald Reagan...is liable to do that to a viewer like myself.

Instead of trying to be the next Ronald Reagan, somebody should be trying to be the first Romney, McCain, Paul.

I specifically left out that other guy whose name is now verboten on FR. It’s not my site, it’s Jim’s, so I’m just playing by the rules of the owner. I believe in private property with a passion.

PS: I expect that you will veto the latest thought crime legislation that Congress passed yesterday, right George?

Lemme check with Karl and Dick. I'll get back to you. I promise!

I think Romney and Paul were what they are and have always been fundamentally.

I think McStain is in his dotage and can't decide what to morph into next.

I think Rudi finally realized just what he got himself into, finally realizing how completely isolated NYC is from the rest of the country (the reason why their representatives are always ignored in Congress). The exception of Schumer's Senate ascendancy will soon burst like a balloon, vain and useless one-trick pony that he is.

Actually, make that over 100 million evangelicals of which we signed up 15 million new GOP voters in 2004 alone and you'd be about right.

And that monster you're trying to create? It's been done already. His name was Ronald Reagan and the Democrats still have nightmares at the memory of him.

I was referring to HR 1592,GW

You will veto the thought crime legislation right?

I would love to see what a Frankenstein candidate would look like. Take the 10 candidates and their best features and put them into one person.

What characteristics from the 10 candidates make for the best option for POTUS?

I'll open it up for FReeper debate minus the lib PMSNBC moderator.

Anyone who believes in jury nullification on a specific case because they have some problem with the country’s foreign policy isn’t playing with a full deck.

Maybe Condi will run as a VP.

Maybe. I wish she'd run the State Department into the ground first, though.

When a politician hasn't aged well, his/her supporters always dig up some campaign photo from a dozen years earlier and use it to promote them. Here are some others we keep hearing about:

RON PAUL
DECADE OLD PHOTO-OP SHOWN BY SUPPORTERS

WHAT HE ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE

RUDY GIULIANI
DECADE OLD PHOTO-OP SHOWN BY SUPPORTERS

WHAT HE ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE

AL GORE

Oh - sorry you didn't get to see it all. Understand being at work during these events - I miss a lot that way (though not work the night shift).

Watched part of the replay last night at 11:00 - but fell asleep! Need to see more debates, read up a LOT on each candidate's positions on issues.

Thinking back - I think the idea of a national ID card was the biggest surprise. WAsn't that endorsed by at least half of them? I know it was in ref. to illegal aliens....but still, scary.

The Dems think they have THE winning issue in the Iraq war. Yet Hitlery herself stumbled bigtime by threatening to revoke the Congressional approval of going to "war" (military force). She will NOT succeed and has made a major blunder while trying to appease the Dems/Independents who think Obama is now the one for them.....so the Iraq war is a quandary not a given for the Dems asa winning issue.

Anyway - as biased as Chrissy's questions were - the candidates handled them very well, I thought.

So we have several good choices....but who can defeat the beast or her sub beast Obama? That will be the question.

You want scary before and after pictures? How about this:

The Huckster saw the big white light after his near death experience at the hands of that global health menace, KFC Original Recipe Chicken:

It's now trans fat free. The Gubmint has given fast food a new license to promote health food with the hysteria! Trans fat free!!! Now you can eat as much of it as you want and not excercise. It's healthy!

EV, as a religious person you have to explain this to me. The Huckster is a preacher. He believes in eternal paradise. Wouldn't it have been much better to just let go and see his grandma and grandpa in Heaven? Why did he have to come back here and tell everyone in Arkansas (I've never been there, can't name 3 cities in the state, I'm sure it's a nice place and has nice people but I don't care what happens there since I will probably never visit) how to live? If you want to see something really ugly, ask me to post an article about how the Huckster got his smoking ban bill passed after he came back from the great beyond.

Good post!

I had begun to suspect that some of those photos were not current. Imagine my shock when you posted this proof. LOL.

It is kind of silly. Like we're not all going to see what they really look like under the studio lights and out in the primary states.
